Class of 2026 CG Ryan Moesch (NY) COMMITTED TO SYRACUSE (4/14/26)

Yup. It was a joke because I never believed GMac was 6’2” and they always listed him as that.
When I went to Cuse (Pitt, PSU, ncst too) on my recruiting trip(s), I weighed in and measured at 6’3”, 210 pounds. I was actually 6’1 1/2” 195 at the time. We all should take measurements with a grain of salt. I don’t believe in any of it until I stand eye to eye with somebody

I saw a picture in a recent article of GMAC and Moesch standing together and they look the same height to me.
Saw the same picture and seem to be the same height. You have to remember they typically list Basketball heights in shoes, which add 1 -2 inches.

what are you now? about 6' 250?

Love me a lefty PG. If he’s one of Gerry’s guys and wants to be great, he will put in the work to bulk up and get stronger to play the game he loves. A lot of people forget, Gerry was a 3 star coming from Scranton. He became great based off the work he put into his craft.

That being said, Dual is the starter…and he will surprise a lot of people with his handle and his defense IMO. If Moesch can contribute as a Freshmen, it’s just a bonus. But don’t discount him from being a significant factor in year two.

Where was GMac a 3 star? He was top 40.

By these standards, Jonny Flynn was not six foot. I stood next to him at the Dome concession stand during a football game, and he was only about an inch taller than me, and no one would mistake me for 6-0.

No disrespect to GMac as he was great and got everything out of his body, but rankings aside Moesch is way more athletic and way more of a point guard. I don’t think Gmac is ranked top 40 if he came out today.
If Ryan is the kind of fighter Gerry was and he is more athletic...we're going to LOVE this kid.

People pay attention to who likes or dislikes your posts? Really?

Honestly, not really. But, be honest, dislikes stand out. You see that red stiletto no matter what. Maybe it's just me. Plus, I was begging, praying for a reason to take the next step. It took a while. Maybe most won't see it, but it is great fun setting something up and laying in wait.

Okay, so you're a point guard.
Full disclosure, I was a point guard. I have distinct philosophies about the position. Sherman Douglas was my hero and who I aspired to play like and better than. Obviously, I didn't accomplish that. Over generations, the position evolves. The baseline for the PG position over every generation is toughness. It's leadership. It's valuing the W over any other statistic. I hope Ryan has that DNA and becomes a legend here at Syracuse.

Great player. Sat in the stands for at least 60 games of his games and had class with him. Not saying Moesch will be as productive as him because that obviously is a very very high bar, but he’s the better athlete. Moesch also played in a better league the past two seasons then Gerry did in HS.
Yes, i would prolly agree Moesch is a better athlete. But there is more to being a great basketball player than that. And the league thing, sure. That’s something you can see in that video I posted—but he scored 55 in that game [did you see that alley oop?!]. And 45 in an NCAA tourney game, so his talents translated across competition.

We’re not really arguing. I haven’t seen enough from Moesch to know anything. If he’s 75% of what GMac was, he’ll be a good player for us. I hope that comes sooner than later, but I’m skeptical. Pound for pound, GMac was one of the baddest mfers ever to lace them up.

So you agree that he is a better athlete and played in a better league but you are skeptical that he will be a good player for us. Even though he won mvp in that league. I guess the only thing that matters is height and weight and not, you know actual basketball skills.

The H0T Takes this off season are next level. At least I wait for exhibition games before posting my H0T Takes post.

Zelda's take is reasonable. GMac started and helped lead us to a National Championship as a freshman while playing 35 minutes a game and shooting 35% from three and 90% from the line. Is there anyone that thinks Moesch will do any of that?
