Pats make plenty of bad moves and I criticize them when they do. They let Welker go it was wrong, they haven't done a good job drafting a WR.I'm just fascinated by seemingly every Patriot fanboy's inherent need to boast about every little move the Patriots make. It's strange. The arrogance is nauseating. Did anyone in this thread claim the Patriots are going to fall off after trading their defensive end? Is Brady still playing? Check. Ok...then no. "Methinks the Brady lady doth protest too much."
This arrogance narrative is nauseating. The team has managed its salary cap brilliantly and that is why they have been competitive all these year along with Brady.
Chandler Jones is a good player but his salary cap hit was going from 1.5 million to 7.5 million next year and the team couldn't resign him.
Sheard was a really good DE last year and he was a rotation player with Nikovich and Jones. He missed 5 games with injury. Sheard can give them close to Jones production and give them an asset in the 2nd round and player on the OL with talent at a position they need help.
This move gave the team more salary cap and gives Chandler to get paid with another team. Patriots make plenty of bad moves this was not one of them.
