Slow week at work, most have already left for the holidays. Normally the board keeps me occupied, but for obvious reasons, it's kind of a downer around here. Thought I'd try to switch it up a bit.
What's everyone doing for the holidays?
Our University shuts down tomorrow, until the 4th. Since I was just in NY a few weeks ago, I'll be hanging out in Alaska for the break. (I said that last year too, but ended up getting drunk, buying a one way ticket, and spending a month in NY, bank account preventing that this year). My grandmother made a Christmas dinner while I was home, so I was able to get my fill of deviled eggs.
We are having dinner on Christmas Eve, I'm in charge of the prime rib. I'm a first timer at this, so if anyone has any tips they wanna share, I'm sure it would help.
Christmas Day, I'll spend at the ol Red Fox Bar and Grill. Like myself, a lot of my friends up here are transplants from somewhere else. When you can't spend holidays with your family, the next best thing is a little day drinking with some good friends.
The rest of my vacation will be spent either binge watching netflix, or hanging out at the fox. I'm going to do my best to stay out of the office. No snow machining this year for the ol troop. I sold my sled last year to help fund my Chicago trip lol.
What are you and your family doing for the holidays? Going anywhere fun? Have any awesome holiday traditions?
Listen, I know we have a lot of problems right now.. basketball team, presidency, football concerns... but let's keep those in their respective threads. Let's keep this one upbeat, and help me get through the next 6 hours and 18 minutes of work.
