Slow week at work, most have already left for the holidays. Normally the board keeps me occupied, but for obvious reasons, it's kind of a downer around here. Thought I'd try to switch it up a bit.

What's everyone doing for the holidays?

Our University shuts down tomorrow, until the 4th. Since I was just in NY a few weeks ago, I'll be hanging out in Alaska for the break. (I said that last year too, but ended up getting drunk, buying a one way ticket, and spending a month in NY, bank account preventing that this year). My grandmother made a Christmas dinner while I was home, so I was able to get my fill of deviled eggs.

We are having dinner on Christmas Eve, I'm in charge of the prime rib. I'm a first timer at this, so if anyone has any tips they wanna share, I'm sure it would help.

Christmas Day, I'll spend at the ol Red Fox Bar and Grill. Like myself, a lot of my friends up here are transplants from somewhere else. When you can't spend holidays with your family, the next best thing is a little day drinking with some good friends.

The rest of my vacation will be spent either binge watching netflix, or hanging out at the fox. I'm going to do my best to stay out of the office. No snow machining this year for the ol troop. I sold my sled last year to help fund my Chicago trip lol.

What are you and your family doing for the holidays? Going anywhere fun? Have any awesome holiday traditions?

Listen, I know we have a lot of problems right now.. basketball team, presidency, football concerns... but let's keep those in their respective threads. Let's keep this one upbeat, and help me get through the next 6 hours and 18 minutes of work.

...

Tried this reverse sear on prime rib last year for the first time, worked great (but kinda slow): The Food Lab's Definitive Guide to Prime Rib

Holiday season is already off to a great start for me. Took the family out to the country to cut down the tree for an old-fashioned Christmas. Some dude in a truck was road raging and I got caught up in the excitement. Ended up stuck underneath another truck and going Dukes of Hazzard into the Christmas tree parking lot.

Cut down a tree that was about 5 times too big for the house and blew out all the windows when I undid the ropes around it. Just went out and did some Christmas shopping. My son caught me flirting with the lingerie saleslady. Oops.

Rest of the family will be coming in tonight. I am a little nervous I haven't gotten my Christmas bonus yet. Between you and me, I'm putting in a swimming pool

My parents and brother are driving down to my house from Syracuse for the holidays. My son who is 8 is extremely excited for Christmas. I am doing a Chinese Food theme for Christmas dinner, so should be decent. A lot of prep though.

What does a "Chinese food themed Christmas" entail?

Sweet and Sour Chicken, Crab Rangoon, Egg Rolls, Chicken and Broccoli, Pork Fried Rice, Sesame Chicken. Shrimp Lo Mein, and Pork Dumplings.

PM me your address. Troop is coming for dinner. ;)

Watch out for squirrels and be sure to insulate the family cat.

Might be a slight change in plans... Sounds like I might be in your neck of the woods Sunday afternoon.

If you come, you better reach out! I plan on starting tomorrow at 4pm and not stopping until Monday morning.

I'll keep you posted. I'm flying the girl down to visit her parents, (and free me up for a solid Christmas at the bar) and all of a sudden she wants me to go too.

7 fishes...I cook so everyone comes to me...no traveling, which is just the way I like it around the holidays...

We just talked it over, and I think I'm sitting this one out. This trip for her is all about hanging out with her parents. If I came, I'd be trying to get to the casinos, and looking for nightlife. She's going to go solo, and we are making plans to both make a trip this summer. I'll get there, brotha!

I'm heading to Atlanta for the GT game, cheap flights and hotels, figure I have to make it to one this year.

Vegas isn't going anywhere, so let me know when you venture out this way, I'll make sure you leave alive.

Owner of my company called today and said there was a little FedEx envelop coming tomorrow.

I hope I don't receive the jelly of the month club.

As long as there isn't a little pink slip in the little FedEx envelope.
