Charlotte Observer ACC Picks

Well, , if we go 9-4 then hype starts building , and we start to look like SU of the 90s, then no it's not lateral, its a step down.

Even if we win 9 games this year, that's 1 less than they won just 2 years ago. Not saying they're special in any way whatsoever, they are actually a below avg P5 school, just so happens that we are below even that at this point.

Listen. I love this town. I love this team. I want them to win a national championship every year.

They are not going 9-4 this year. If they go 6-7 with a bowl loss, I will take it. 7-5 would be absolutely beautiful

It confuses me on how folks can even get to the point that they think that is possible let alone probable. I get as excited as anyone for the new season but thinking more than 6 or 7 wins is likely is a great way to be very disappointed.

I absolutely agree, chugg. But I don't think we need to be throwing around Babers is going to Colorado if we outperform expectations

I know one thing Colorado would have ZERO interest in Steve Addaizo if BC went 9-4 this year.

I mention Colorado because the Pac 12 is the only conference i could conceivably see Dino jump to from Syracuse based on where he's from and Colorado may be looking for a coach end of year. And yes, Colorado is a better job than Syracuse. It was better when Colorado was a top 15 program (as were we) in the 90s and it's better when they stink (and we stink).

I'm being flip obviously but i want to see us do well and for Dino to stay here without yearly drama of coaches leaving, etc. I feel like coaches can do a good job of killing rumors if they want to. I think most coaches, these days, love the leverage a good season gives them. That's why i thank my lucky stars we have had a guy like Boeheim and Pasqualoni (before him) who didn't leverage their success when they were successful. It helps a program build on itself. If Dino can stay here for 15 years it'll do wonders for Syracuse football.

They had their good season 2 years ago. The rest is either much worse than us or about the same.

I’ve yet to hear a compelling case as to why that’s a better job...

Colorado is a crap job.
They had to take paycheck games from Michigan and Ohio State.
Syracuse even when we were in the Big East didn’t do single off paycheck games.

You overestimate Colorado job. It’s a job on par with Syracuse.

Oof. Maybe change the wording here, Alsacs ...?
Well I am just being honest right now both SU and Colorado are bottom tier P5 job.
Both schools don’t have much HS talent in-state. If NY HSFB gets better than that will help SU.

We have been irrelevant far too long. I love SUFB more than BB but it’s undisputed our FB program needs multiple good years to be a better job. I just don’t think Colorado is a better job. It’s the same type job right now.

Fair enough

I'm not trying to make Colorado into Nebraska but it is a public school with, presumably, more money to hire coaches. if dino has designs on going west for his next stop, it's the one job that sticks out as one that may need a HC and would throw money at a situation that MAY be appealing to a guy who likes to move around a bit. That's my point. Both jobs are lower tier but they have a similar history to Syracuse where they were a top flight program for a 15 year or so window in the 80s/90s.

yeah but they have the flat irons, pearl street, (and the sink).

Well put. Colorado is a step down to those who know CFB and its history. Besides, the Dome is built for Babers' scheme, not sure why anyone thinks HCDB would be in a hurry to leave a stadium so perfect for his scheme. Add to that, he may have 1-2 cold games per season with most of the conference to the south, it's hard to fathom HCDB leaving.

We go 9-4 we will be sitting here next year talking about how Dino will do at Colorado and whether the right move was keeping continuity w Brian Ward or Nick Monroe as HC.

The world is a flat circle

What? Colorado is a down grade to an inferior conference to another rebuild. Why? Silly talk...

Oh, what the heck. Why are we throwing around Babers going to Colorado?

Dumb, let's enjoy some positive pub for tje love of god without unintelligent talk. Colorado isa worse job in an inferior conference.

And just why is Colorado the hot destination????

And you are being kind calling it a job on our level. The P12 is inferior without the coverage d/t its geography. The ACC is improving yearly right behind the B10 and close to the 2nd best conference.

To say Colorado is a better job is beyond crazy.
