Chip Kelly likely leaving UCLA for Ohio State OC job

UCLA had to be the school that engineered the demise of the PAC12, their arrogance is off the charts.
With the help of FOX and their new best buds, the BIG. UCLA and USC were the primary targets to secure the LA television market. When the Apple deal with the PAC went nowhere, the stage was set to make the ultimate chess move. UCLA and USC took the life line they were offered and the dominoes fell. FOX and the BIG wanted this and helped each other get it done. It’s like the vultures helping the lions organize a kill.

Of course the networks facilitated it, but they had willing partners. I still can't believe they destroyed the PAC for their own gain. They could have added 4 Big 12 schools and that would have got them into the central time zone and would have given them better time slots and a better media agreement.

Chip has been begging UCLA for over a year to build up a NIL program, which is practically nonexistent. UCLA has dragged its feet, and their NIL sucks compared to other schools.

Chip knew he has zero chance to win without a solid NIL program in place, so he bolted. It's really not that surprising as he doesn't want to be on the sinking ship when it goes down at UCLA and its about to go down hard as NIL is the way of the world in college sports. Ohio St has one of the best NIL programs, UCLA one of the worst and trying to play catch up now but its late to the game.

Easy decision for Chip

What a huge risk UCLA is taking. At the time of the move I didn't get the B1G even wanting them. Now they are looking like the Rutgers of the West.

At least this hire will be one less reason for the carousel to keep going, when it comes to current head coaches leaving, that is.

It is a risk but they need a guy who can get their donors motivated and I think he can at least do that. Players love him so that should help him retain a lot of the kids he wants to retain. Should be interesting
