Chnaces on Whitehead, scale of 1 to 10?????

-10.

You'd have to be Michael Jordan to know you can beat out 3 other players for playing time, especially given JB's track record of handling freshman PT. If the kid loved SU and really wanted to help win a championship no matter how many minutes he got, he would have committed already. He wants his time and there's nothing wrong with that.

In the past six years, the average minutes/game for the 55 guards drafted in the first round has been 33 MPG. Only five have averaged under 30 and only one has averaged under 28 - that was Waiters with 24 MPG. The path of least resistance for Whitehead to get to the NBA is to get lots of time and not be in constant competition with four other people. Based on Jake's "prediction," the absolute logjam at guard and the other big targets for 2015, there's is 0% chance he comes to SU.

Doesn't the staff want a guy like Malachi in 2015 way more than they wish to add a sixth guard to the mix in 2014? (Ennis, KJ, G, Bus, Cooney)

Would seem far more beneficial to spread them out a bit more.
Except what if the staff assesses IW as someone who would be the best sg out of the bunch in '14. Wouldn't you roll the die?

If you could get a short term boost at the weakest projected position of the National Championship contending '14 squad, how are you not considering it? IW has the potential to bring a lot more to the '14 squad than Goodluck does. And that '14 squad looks like it is poised to do some serious damage.

There are still a lot of factors to consider. To claim this is over seems premature to me.
