I only tease those I think can take it.I can't even be mad about this.

Agree with this post. I think he’ll be a bench sniper for a winning teamChris Bell has an elite-caliber skill that is highly valued.
He didn't do much else, and didn't have a well rounded game. I also question whether he is dedicated to working hard to improve his skill set, as that didn't occur in any facet of his game during his three years at SU.
He seems like one of those kids who didn't necessarily "love" the game, but has used it to advance himself via a scholarship. Nothing wrong with that.
I think he gave both JB and Red some minor problems off the court, but wasn't a bad kid overall. I wish him the best, but not displeased that he's moved on.
Some of OttoinGrotto ’s best work.Who is the author of the Chris Bell experience? Its one of my all time favorites
problem is you cant actually build a team with one dimensional players"he doesnt dribble. he hasnt dribbled all year" - Kevin Keatts after he told his team Bell doesnt dribble before he hit 9 3's in a half.
He also doesnt play defense unless hes blocking a fast break layup and he doesnt rebound and he doesnt jump on his "jump shot" and he is not shy of yelling at his teammates and pouting on the bench.
he'll have a few big games and people will say "told you so" which is fine and their prerogative.
but ive never cared less about someone leaving. he brought nothing to our table.
Most teams who have strong defenders can hide one guy who's not.Unless Bell suddenly starts playing defense, I don't see how he could play on a "winning team".
You guys watch the tourney this year? Good teams have players that can shoot AND defend.
And, people keep talking like guys have to be NBA playoffs minutes quality to make it in today's college game. Most teams who have strong defenders can hide one guy who's not.
Our problem is that we regularly rolled out a lineup that had no strong defenders.
Which team did you watch this past weekend who had a guy they hid and just hit 3s?Most teams who have strong defenders can hide a guy who's not.

That sort of player is a relic.
Copy.I didn't watch any games this weekend.
it isnt just this board... cuse twitter is even crazier.JJ wouldn’t get playing time on an ordinary Cuse team but Chris Bell has “elite” abilities. Love this board.
Good luck to the kid. Maybe get out of the corner if you want the ball.
I mean it's not like it's some absurd argument:JJ wouldn’t get playing time on an ordinary Cuse team but Chris Bell has “elite” abilities. Love this board.

Is the elite 3pt shooter in the room with us right now?I mean it's not like it's some absurd argument:
elite 3pt shooter > shooting guard who can't shoot or defend
Bell, when he's not in his um mental funkWho is the elite three point shooter?
I hope we play them. If we don't go right on him on offense, that would be something that could get you fired.its gonna be confusing for a lot of people but seems he will end up at a good program next
Eh you're gonna miss him a little bit.Bell, when he's not in his um mental funk
(edit: and also I'm certainly not going to miss him)
I’m notEh you're gonna miss him a little bit.
This is a good perspective and I can appreciate him a little more now. Especially the fact that he’s the last guy ever coached by Boeheim to wear orange.I'm going to miss him. I feel bad for Chris because he has all of the talent and athleticism in the world but was never able to quite put it together. He's clearly a bit of a head case in terms of "getting into his own head" when adversity strikes, and that's no fault of his own, it's just how he was made.
It's a shame really. But he's the last guy on our team coached by a legend and he stuck around for the new regime and showed loyalty that frankly is mostly gone in today's game. Players like Bell (and after next year, JJ) who are here for at least 3 years are mostly a thing of the past. For that reason alone, the guy bled Orange for 3 years and I'll miss him.
I might be biased, but I definitely don’t think the coaching staff did “everything” to help him. They didn’t run any plays for the guy. He literally sat in the corner most of the time. He shot 40 something percent last year from 3 and then 40 something this year in ACC play.. I think that’s great shootingChris needs a fresh start. I dont know of any other player that has been provided with more opportunities to do well. I believe that Red and the staff did everything possible to help Chris overcome his problems.
Chris is a good, not great shooter who is average in other areas. I wish him the best and hope that his focus is on getting himself into a good place and getting his degree. It will be interesting to see how things work out for him on and off the court.
