Chris Bell transferring to Cal

he started the year 2/13 from 3. and then has been on a heater since.

he will revert to the mean soon enough. he literally doesnt jump on jump shots. people just have to defend him close and cant play help d. he will go in a slump. adn then he will blame his teammates.

If Kingz shot like Bell has shot so far this season we'd have a better record.

a perfect example of what i mean. 55 shouldnt have been playing so far off of him (he will help space the floor for sure. but this is an easy block/tip for anyone over 6'5" defending him.

not sure its his personal character posters (me) are talkign about. but we all witnessed his character as a teammate for sure. thats just a fact. its public knowledge. and it was horrible. easily the worst since deshaun williams (this is an opinion).

i dont know him as a person at all. hope hes an OK guy.

Totally agree on character judgements, but the dude sucks at basketball outside of one area where he is streaky. Can't isolate his occasionally good three point shooting from how disgustingly bad he is at everything else. No bag, no defense, no rebounding, no passing or IQ when it comes to spacing, no consistent effort, and everything gets even worse if the shot isn't falling. I was team bell when it was between him Taylor and Q in his first couple years, since those guys sucked even worse. He completely lost me with his regression last year, which was CLEARY accompanied by less effort on the court. Year 3 and he looked worse than he was as a freshman. We have upgraded from that dude in every way.

A total blessing that he is no longer on this team. Do not care about anything off the court. Do not care that he had one of his good shooting days last game.

And we have posters close to the team that have said his teammates didn't consider him a bad teammate. Which would be a contradictory fact that's public knowledge to your claim.

they say hes a good person or a good teammate specifically.

because we can physically see him be a bad teammate. we have seen him go on a tirade against his own player, we have seen his moping, whining and complaining, weve seen him not look at a coach when being talked to, weve seen him not cheering on his team, weve seen him benched dozens of times for effort and specifically for screaming at kyle cuffe.

im only talking his actions on the court as a teammate - maybe they say hes a buddy off the court?

I sat courtside against ND last year when he went on a ridiculous minute long temper tantrum when he didnt get the ball. My kids can recite what he said word for word which was full of expletives. 1 example.

Met Chris a few times and some of his teammates. I can tell you they wouldn’t agree with the characterization as a “worst teammate” and I can say definitively he never punched a mascot. Not the most emotionally mature, but his perceived anger was almost always directed at himself

and again - a good teammate does not get benched for effort or behavior. chris bell was benched MULTIPLE times for effort and behavior. so i think consigliore and you are missing what a good teammate means. like i said, they can be friends off the court. punching a mascot or sleeping with a teammates gf is a bad person (which can certainly make him even worse of a teammate) but we've never talked about chris bell as a person - strictly as a teammate and a bad teammate has poor body language, is selfish on the court, gives little to no effort, etc- all things that we saw plus him ef bombing kyle cuffe in front of 10,000 people. and getting benched for the entirety of the game after it.

Some people expect perfection from everyone in all things, forgetting we are all human and are far less than perfect. The “What have you done for me lately” crowd soon forgets the good that a person does and focuses only on the bad.

We should be thankful for any player to want to be Orange, whether they live up to their potential or not. We should wish them well when they leave on good terms or amicably. Bitterness benefits no one.

We should know. He excels at scoring 20 points in Garbage time. Props to Cal for going on a 15 point run late in the 2nd to close the game to 10 points, Bell was shooting hot! Then Louisville started rebounding and playing D again and won by 20.
