Everyone is commenting on the call at the end of regulation last night (as they should), but the officiating has been horrendous all season long. Its laughable how bad it is in almost every game.

Couldn’t agree more with this.

Ten years ago my interest in woman’s hoops grew because my daughter was playing travel and school ball and I appreciated the “more pure” style played by D1 colleges at the time. Spacing, motion, passing, picks, speed dribbling and change of pace, post footwork because the game is played below the rim.

Then a handful of college coaches brought in a more thuggish style and the players were not reeled in from the growing trash talk and yapping at the refs. Female coaches and especially assistants seemed encouraged to turn the sidelines into a nightclub slutty fashion show with tight revealing dresses, high heels and big hair. This migrated to the WNBA (or perhaps it was vice versa, I didn’t watch WNBA then). Regardless, I can’t stand the in your face defense and constant pushing. I blame the shot clock for creating this sense of havoc too.
