Other than Chukwu obviously committing his 5th (which could've been a no-call because Brissett also got fouled with no call a moment before), I can't see what they have to complain about. They got 6 free points out of the clear blue sky with Moyer's not-really-foul on the three and that horrible and-one on 14 where he shoved Dolezaj while going up with the shot.

What that thread tells me is that their mods don't give a flying you-know-what about what gets posted there.

If this board were like that, not only would I not be a mod, I wouldn't be here period.

Just about everything went our way, the last few minutes. Couple cheap ones called on them. This board would be all over the refs if that happened to us.

I think Clemson fans are pretty chill. I'm around them all the time. Cocky about football for sure but they all congratulated me on our win back in October. Most of them are probably too new to CBB to realize the refs are absolutely terrible in every second of every game and it's not just towards their team.

Those fans have achieved new and unique depths for a fanbase and a supposedly moderated message board. Pretty worrisome when some of our own 'fans' defend that level of attacks.

Every fanbase has jerks, ours included. I don't think it is productive to blame entire fan bases based on idiots on the internet. Nobody is defending the fans that made the post or agreed with it.

Where did I blame an entire fanbase? I am blaming those who wrote it, those on both boards who stay silent or excuse it and moderators who allow that level of discourse. Of course every fanbase has idiots but hopefully the non idiots take issue with it.

I'm guessing the OP there was trying to make a Laurie Fine joke but got his facts mixed up.

And in fairness, the first response was calling "Tiger Dave" a jerk. As a general rule of thumb, I find Southern college sports fans to be the most pleasant sports fans in America. LSU folks were wonderful to us.

I’ll never understand how a subset of people insist on using a term that describes those who beat them in the Civil War.

You wrote "those defending Clemson fans." That sounds like a pretty broad brush to me. Nobody here was defending that post or the mods on their board that tolerated it. People here were just chiming in to say they knew some decent folks who were Clemson fans.

Some of you making excuses for the fans over there have your heads in the sand. Was the title of my post controversial? Hell yes...but if you did further research and read the board you would see the underlying theme on the board towards Syracuse and their fans over the years. It is pervasive and there was no honeymoon period since we were announced coming in 2011. They didn't want a Yankee team in the ACC. Have I met some good Clemson fans? Yes Of course all their fans aren't trash but a significant minority are jerks and will smile and give you backhanded compliments to your face and stick a knife in your back when you aren't there. I love the passion southern fans have for football but it does bring out the worst in many.

Lots of us despise Rutgers and Schiano...I never remember once someone attacking his family. That was a foul and the moderator to allow that just set the bar really low.

I never stay too much time there on their board (it is hideously bad to read threads quickly) ...I've tried to reach out to them and give them helpful advice about traveling to Syracuse for games. About half the fans are nice and apologizes for the other half in the thread who call out our state, city, team and fans. Jim Boeheim and Scott Shafer really got under their skin. They really don't know what to make of Dino Babers. The funny thing is they are not basketball fans at all...only a few have knowledge of hoops like the Big 4 Hoop program fans (Duke, Louisville, Syracuse and UNC) and if you read their various game threads it was obvious many had no idea of the subtle differences of why the refs made the calls they did. Are there bad calls? Obviously yes, but to have an original member fan complain about ACC refs favoring a Yankee team is hilarious.
