Clemson Kickoff: Nooner on ABC or ESPN

  • Syracuse at Clemson – Noon ET on ABC or ESPN – network designation after the games of 9/13

Duke time is the interesting one for me anyway.

Already have a military funeral and bday party to attend that day. ACC schedule is pretty light that day.

Feels like noon, Lou/Pitt being the best game that day in the ACC. VT/NC st maybe.

SU/Duke perhaps the 3rd best potential?

Looking like another nooner. Suspect most of our games will be at noon, home and away, except for North Carolina and ND.

Parents weekend, likely noon I would guess.

I hope it’s noon because I have a class reunion later in the day.

A few big games that day

two night games
Oregon/PSU
Ala/GA

ND/Ark noon

OSU/Wash
LSU/Ole Miss
Aub/TAM

Ala better beat an AVG Wisc this week or they risk going 1-3 before the schedule even ramps up

4 ranked road games and LSU/Tenn at home.

Sorry for your loss

Duke seems a pretty heavy favorite to be another Noon game. ACC has gone all in on Noon like the B10 for any decent games just below the primetime slot and sometimes even that primetime game gets a Noon slot. Hoping for anything else but I suspect Noon will be the time.

Noon on ABC/ESPN is their #2 most favorable slot. Behind 7:30.
It's pretty crazy how things have changed... 3:30 used to feel like the game of the week timeslot between the CBS game, ABC always had a great game and Notre Dame on NBC.

Now it feels like it's mostly a throwaway timeslot for any week that doesn't have many good games.

I know, and I think people are still having trouble adjusting to that. We had so many years of being the last network choice as Big East Game of the Week. Hard to think noon means anything different.

Maybe 3:30 will make a comeback, but that Texas-Ohio State noon number, yeesh.

Unfortunately it has, the big games are now Noon and 7-8pm. It's ironic that during SU's struggle years (decade+) we couldn't buy a non Noon slot. Now that were halfway decent and TV wants the game it takes a near miracle to get a non Noon game. I am hoping for at least one 3:30 between Duke, Pitt and BC.

Remember Dave Sims and John Congemi in the Noon Big East Game of the Week?

Every single week.

3:30 is the perfect kickoff time for attending a game, but it clearly must not be the preferred timeslot for television.

For me the CW game is perfect. That way at the tailgate we can watch the end of the noon games and still easily get to our seats for kickoff. 2nd place would be a 4pm ESPN2 game for the same reason, but that might cut it close.
