He definitely had a point. AW is AW and you can see why it's easy for people to go against him, but it takes two to tango. This board was very one-sided during that episode. I was wondering if people would change their minds or at least see it in a different light.

Not sure. Just saying there was another side of that dispute that most here gave a free pass. We don't know what he would do as that happened very early in the nil era.

I’d be more concerned about losing someone’s support if we were top-10 every season and a top 3 seed. Being well-funded and losing games feels the same as being poor and losing games. Regardless of which celebs are sitting courtside or in a luxury box.

Just my opinion based on the posts, I think Hodgson is as done of a deal as possible without announcing. TJ is probably more available than people think if the rumor of ISU cutting funding to BBall is true and his agent is putting it out there.

If it were $29m I don’t think any of the talking heads would be bringing his name up in any scenario for any destination. And that is an absurd amount of money, certainly more than I would see an ISU putting into a contract. I’ve seen $4m several times. Guessing that is the right figure.

That’s the schools buyout not the coach.

TBH what we have here is Cuse admin understanding that people wanted a national search and real research and discussion cause the Red hire didn’t look good .. It was smoke and mirrors and manipulation thru the media .. Why do you think the old man Hoops Weiss was the only credible source .. Haven’t seen him break news in years … Gerry is gonna be the guy and we also help BH get more money elsewhere and the fans believed they tried hard .. And yes I want Gerry as coach

Seriously guys, and I know we’ve been down for a little bit, but a good coach knows what this program has been and can be. 30,000+ in the stands, top five of all-time wins. Any coaches in their 40s, that history is fresh. ISU, in its best year ever, could never match what Syracuse is when it’s at the top in terms of visibility, fan support, and prestige.

Don’t let the recent past completely cloud your judgement. And this goes not just for your comment, but all the doom and gloomers out there. Maybe I’m being naïvely optimistic, but I think a coach worth his salt knows what Syracuse represents and with a vision, what it can be again.

We’ve seen coaching cycles with a dozen top tier programs looking. We’re literally only competing with teams like Providence and BC.

Agents and coaches know stuff. They know our budget. They know our NIL challenges. Getting Jay Wright to give us a pity interview isn’t going to change anything. Let’s just hope we can lock in BH.
