That's 40 years of mediocrity. So It really doesn't matter what your source thinks.

IF Hodgson goes to Providence, I hope we go after Phil Martelli Jr. Actually, I hope we already spoke to him to gauge his interest. Let's not put all our eggs in one basket.

If you have the guy who wants the job and has what is needed to win here you have been trying to line things up a while and then petty BS from one arrogant donor who thinks they now run the university having to pivot is always going to set us up for a possible lesser outcome and more difficult road. It would be conceding and settling on someone else when the best option is in your lap if you just put arrogance aside.

I don't disagree in this very moment that Providence is on par or maybe even a slightly better job than Syracuse. IF you are planning to leave Providence in 5 years. What's the realistic ceiling at Providence without Providence ability to generate real TV money revenue and other revenue streams the way Syracuse can with being all in on revenue athletics. Syracuse right now is operating at its floor in this new era, so what happens when Syracuse sees some more success again. What is the Syracuse ceiling? If you are unsure about yourself to build something long term and looking to leverage yourself for an even better job than Syracuse in 5 years, Providence is probably the better option. If you are betting on yourself to build something long term and this is your destination, Syracuse is probably the better option. Here's a wildcard, say South Florida has proof of evidence that they are getting a power conference invite and entry by say 2028, staying at South Florida is probably the best option. It's not necessarily a bad thing for Syracuse fan base if Syracuse lands Hodgson after Providence stretches Syracuse to provide more in the offer if it enables Hodgson delivering quicker. For Syracuse for the next coach, it's all about what happens after the initial success occurs and the ability to ride that wave and get back to being the top 15 program Syracuse is historically.

the fact that there is even a debate happening which is a better spot and which spot will have the best resources is really telling of where we are. could you imagine if other schools in the big ten or sec opened up. we would be a real trouble right now.

Yeah, this is a very concerning time. If we can't get a coach from the American Conference and lose him to an average to poor Big East team, our program is toast. There's literally no point to following them anymore if we aren't any better than that.

I think if BH passes then we would pivot to GMac at this point. That is why I think it is BH and bust for us and I think BH knows this as well.

Tbf if the numbers you see thrown around online are accurate, they're saying Providence is offering like the 2nd most NIL in the entire country lol (no I do not believe that is actually true).

I agree with that, but Hodgson has seen what the Syracuse basketball program can be. I think a coach like him believes in himself and thinks he can get us back there.
