Coach Search Options after Autry

Listen, all of you. Insiders post what they have been told. You can choose to believe it or not.

But knock off the personal attacks. Put the poster on ignore if it's that important to you. But posts knocking someone who posts information they have been told will be deleted.
💯 Grow up. Listen I heard the world was flat. I don’t think that’s right but that’s what I heard?

He needs to go in on that passion with the fanbase. The AD is increasingly becoming much more of a public facing role. Like he should have a station on the quad before football games serving up some of his BBQ recipes.
“Come to Bryan B. Blair’s BBBBBBQ. The extra B is for BYOBB.”

“What’s that extra B for?”

“It’s a typo.”

You can search .gifs on the interwebs, then just copy & paste here.

I do that semi-regularly when a .gif I’d like to use doesn’t pop up in a search on GIPHY or other.

Oh I know .. was just going for effect with the post lol… needed a cage match gif in short order but the moment has passed

I think many of us need to remind ourselves that Hodgson isn’t the only option, and that even if they get Hodgson that doesn’t guarantee success.

What Syracuse needs to do is find a niche and take advantage of it. Easier said than done but when everyone was focused on one and done in the mid 2010s Nova won in going against the grain with four year guys. There will be a niche in the NIL era that someone figures out. It would be nice if it was Syracuse.

Because you are the one calling me a "liar," which is bunk.

You are the one casting shade about my posting style, and attacking a different opinion than your own.

You're the one making weird attributions about me editing my posts to change their meaning, which is false, by the way.

You want to stop this? Then feel free to knock off the BS.
You guys should hug

I'm for that. How does winning natty's sound for a niche?

Seems resonable. We were at 8-9 all in this year. So getting up to 10-12 seems like a reasonable ask. Not saying that isn't a lot of money, but the ask isn't unreasonable to me.

We are going to have to pay Enis to follow him :-)
Let me just say again….

What happened to college athletics? Absolutely insane how it got to this.

The number that coaches are looking for at SU is total roster $ in the $10-$12M range annually. Maybe a bit less, but not much. Figure 3-4M of it is Rev Share, the rest is NIL. It’s not a small lift. That would put top 5 ish in ACC. Barely upper half SEC/B1G.

It’s more than we spent this past year and about 3x what was spent 2 years ago.
That's slightly easier in year 1 with the Players Era payout. We can't count on that every year, though.

nil only. approx $2.5m to $5m to now hoping for $8-9m.
8/9 million won’t get it done. SU will be shopping in mezzanine s as gain if that’s the case. They need to hit double digits to even sniff the first few floors below the penthouse. To get to the top SU would need at least 15mil. I don’t see that happening.

I don't even think it is THAT conniving. Let's be jhonest -- Hodgson isn't out of work. He doesn't need to leave money on the table just to take a bird in the hand.

He doesn't have to leave USF. He's built a good thing there, he had success, and if he stays he'll almost certainly have success.

Or he could go to Providence.

Or he could go to Syracuse.

Or he could cast his net more widely, and see if any other teams come calling.

When you have options, you don't necessarily have to take the offer on the table. You can negotiate. And that's what his representation is doing.

You can leverage one offer against another, in search of more preferential compensation or better terms. That's the advantage of not being desperate, you have options.

And of course, he's going to look for more resources. Why wouldn't he?
If we want to play with the big boys and get a seat at the table you have to play the game, and pay the money.
