or even creativity. I don't think anyone is posting that we need to hire Brad Stevens and give him $20m/year for a roster or we're awful. The idea behind Hodgson was that he's turned around two programs in three years, embraces analytics, was a young coach who hadn't priced himself out of Syracuse's range, AND had a captivating personal story who was from western NY with a close established relationship with a prominent booster. The fact that all of those pluses couldn't get him across the finish line is just disappointing. Because it ain't gonna be TJ or someone else with a list of P4 accomplishments a mile long. It's going to be someone who is underwhelming.

So, he's GMac, but w 2 program turnarounds, not 1, w analytics to GMacs apparent without, and w no real playing experience?

I'm by no means a prude. But coaches get fired for doing this, not hired. Ohio University fired their FB coach for a relationship with a grad student. They just can't allow that. So, if true, it was disqualifying. Might explain why he's looking toward a religion based school that seem to be more forgiving.

How is that remotely close to the same situation as Hodgson and his fiancée happening to meet and form a relationship when they did?

Well, if Hodg really didn't pass our hiring background check, then his agent would likely want to get out in front of that with a "job turned down" angle. I mean he still wants to get him in somewhere at a big packet increase. Could also be why the USF stay package also was announced... fall-back plan.

That's the reason.

Did you know that teaching a freshman 3 credit course that meets 3 times a week for a semester only pays $3,500 to an Adjunct Professor?
That's 45 hours of class time, plus preparing lectures, grading papers, administrative work, and office hours for students.

If you figure all of that time adds up to 150 hours a semester, that means they are paying an Adjunct Professor $23.33/hour.

This is why their academic ranking keeps dropping. They can't afford many good professors, because they have too many administrators on big bucks. So, they fill out their ranks with very poorly paid people to teach the masses of undergrads.

My mom worked as a nurse for SU during covid, giving vaccines. She quit very soon after. She said it was literally the worst paying nurse job in the whole area.

My perspective on Bryan Blair

The major reason I believe he was hired was to make a fresh start and because he wasn't already in someone's pocket. He did not hold any allegiances coming in like Carp and Lyke. Simply put the board and this special consultant in the end said the best thing we can do is to pick a guy that will probably upset and disrupt everyone equally.

BB is going to tell all the internal groups supporting BH, Hop, and Gmac you know what this is not in the bag for anyone. They'll get a look but with no biases and let's be real that prob didn't sit well with anyone on the hill.

If you take a step back BH, Gmac and Hop are all basic hires, they are family or they are the usual top midmajor angling for a better deal and ready to make the jump to P5. Our fanbase is so desperate for a winner that all we want is the safe choice which really puts 99% of fans into 2 camps BH with his solid record at midmajors or Gmac with his hometown hero status.

BUT that's not how BB is going to see it. He is not in the family nor was he here for the last year or 2 while BH was angling. From his perspective anyone that was here for the last 5-10 years of crap was part of the problem and what they want is probably not the best course of action.

I hope people read BB's bio and his accomplishments, he has been the youngest and first mover on so many things. He was just hired over multiple people that although had flaws they had decades more experience than him and powerful people in their corners. This dude hates the status quo and hearing this how we usually do things...

Right now I hope BB is burning it all down, which is why you hear the panic from insiders and the panic from their insiders and so on and confusion all over. No one knows what he is going to do and maybe that's what we really need right now because the status quo is not working.

Personally I think that means it will be one of the highly touted assistants or even an assistant we have not thought of or a longshot top P5 coach out of left field that he sells a dream. It will not be family and it won't be a midmajor coach moving up with any connection to anyone here and that is going to piss alot of people off, but its what needs to be done now.
