He had a 52% shooting percentage so he must have made every single shot that was not blocked.

And he is the best defender on the team. They won the MAAC tournament final not in small part to Folefac defending the MAAC player of the year and holding him to 28% shooting.

He’s maybe 6’6”. You expect him to guard guys 3-4 inches taller. His range is at the rim. Too many people see what he’s doing against MAAC teams and think it will translate to the ACC. No one on Siena will be able to significantly be a factor at SU. Doty might be able to defend, but he won’t score.

Gerry proved in the MAAC games that I watched that he can actually make half time adjustments.
And most of the time they actually work.
When did we ever see Red do that in one of our games the last 2 years.
Red's teams tended to give up on both defense and offense in the second half, losing leads and getting blown out. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Gerry's teams tend to play harder in the second half and either win or fight till the bitter end.

If they can't get financials in order *with* football money coming in, then this is probably the start of the death of Cuse athletics barring major changes. I've seen UConn brought up as a way to say Cuse is still better off, but they still were able to hire a very good football coach after losing Mora. So obviously things aren't as bad as some want them to be over there.

Bottom line is Gerry’s not winning without talent. He’s not getting talent without NIL. Unless SU has $12 million waiting for him, he’s crazy to take this job.

I think Hodgson and his woman have an out of wedlock kid. Guessing that is a problem. They might need to get married (I know they got engaged) to get a better job than USF.

I suspect that is the plan. Bryan will get married (probably over the summer) and move up to a better job next year.

In the meantime, his agent will tell Goodman he ‘turned down’ PC as well and is going to stay at USF. He might well get a raise but don’t expect USF to add a big fee for leaving for another job.

Meanwhile SU and PC will hire candidates with better backgrounds this cycle.

Ok folks here you go and this is confirmed information from probably the closest person to the program on the donor side -

They aren’t hiring Hop. Even with all the money in the world and support he’s getting, the university knows they can get over the Washington record so that’s out.

However, they are trying to get the Same group of donors that were backing hop to back Gmac. They want Blackwell as well as the 1-2 punch. And they think that is their best way to raise money and basically anyone outside of the family has no shot to raise any sort of money because they don’t know anyone in the community

They are interviewing Hurley this week and a few other “outsiders” that even the university wouldn’t share with this donor

The financials are rough. Really rough. They are asking for sums of money that are literally astronomical and hiring a coach is going to be very hard because of how bad it truly is.

All the players on the team have the intention to come back. Mainly bc they have ZERO offers from other schools. Nate George has an offer from Kentucky and that’s it. Obviously it will be up to the new coach on what to do with the roster.

So with all this time to prepare which has literally been before the start of the season to prepare as it relates to NIL, Not revenue share issues, coach salary issues right? With an exponential ramp up/ preparation over the last 8 weeks. we are still at shortfall is what you are saying?

I hope you are correct, and that is more for GMac's sake than Syracuse's sake. I dont want to see another Red situation. GMac should work his way up and learn more before making the jump to Syracuse. Odds are, whoever we hire won't be a lifelong hire, so next time it is open if GMac continues to grow and have success then he will be ready for the job at that time. These statements are coming from my respect for GMac don't want to see it all burned down because he took a job he wasn't ready for like Red.

Yes 10 year difference. The radioshow chatter described it as an inappropriate relationship with a member of the women's bball team. I can't confirm if she actually played at Bama, I see she played at Jacksonville St. I questioned him, he said he would have been fired if he wasnt able to land at Ark St. Apparently USF didnt have issue with it either. Regardless it looks mutual as they are now engaged and it is in the past. Shame on SU if this the reason. He also mentioned BH mocked SU on twitter once.

If he mocked us, the years buffalo embarrassed us, the mocking was earned.
