I’m not sure we’re going to get Gerry. I think the key would be getting him the resources he wants. He’s not going to come here if the NIL isn’t there. And the only way the $ is there is if Melo can be convinced to support Gerry like he is planning to support Hop.

If that happens, and it’s huge if, I think ultimately JB helps smooth over the hard feelings and convinces GMAC to take the job.

Also that BH got wind that BB was not going the direction that had been preset with Lyke and Lally so well you know he got revenge on us by making us look like clowns with Goodman and leveraging a better deal with USF. Whatever we deserve it and put ourselves in that boat.

Same could be said about the inhouse family guys as well with Hop and Gmac. I think BB told them to kick rocks when they said Hop needed to be the guy 3 weeks ago or else and then again last week after the MaaC tourney throwing all their support into Gmac.

There are guys that will or have interviewed and stand out more than both BH and Gmac. Will the NIL in one direction or another with the candidates matter though is the real question. Money talks and honestly Gmac checked alot of boxes today.

That's a very fair take.

I've softened on Gerry being HC *IF* it comes with a massive influx of NIL money and that influx is more than just a first year spike.

I am in the exact same place in my thought process.

This game changed me. Gmac might not have the best offense but he gets those kids to play hard. I was all in on hodgson but there is a huge difference between the two. The Siena players would rush the beach at Normandy for gmac. He had them ready and if he had some other players available he would have had a major upset today. USF on the other hand rolled over like an Autry team. If gmac can get freeman and Anthony to play like that next year we will surprise a lot of teams. Make it official and bring gmac home.

I remember a friend telling me that GMAC did not look happy when Autry was named HC. I did not pick up on it at the time.

Now he’s too good for us? ffs. He’s not saying no if we offer. Not a chance in hell. He’s still not the best choice despite competing with a good team. Blind squirrels and all that

I just don’t get the Hop support from Melo. He knows the game and yet he is all behind a coach who couldn’t get it done.

No way Gerry turns us down after the way JB has essentially gone all in on him. And it is inconceivable that Melo withholds money from his former teammate.
