If Thamel is right, and now NIL is not a barrier I don’t know what the hell is happening. Last weekend I spoke to coaches who knew South Florida coaches and they said that was a major reason Hodgson was not coming here, then a day later Goodman says basically same thing fast forward now there is tooooo many fish in the sea?! Maybe Hodgson’s team was just putting out misinformation left and right maybe they wernt but this is one hell of a roller coaster. I have to believe something crazy is going on because u would assume Gerry would be coach by now if other great candidates wernt interested.

He’s just trying to get into the $EC in a year or two. You have to prove yourself to be a jerkoff first before getting membership.

Can’t worry about that. Get the best you can. Someone else pays more you deal with that then or get a buyout. If that happens it means we’re in a better place for the next coach.

Correct, that means whoever the coach is, is killing it here and is coveted by another big-time job. Take your buyout and hire again because if the coach was performing that good to get another job means we are way more attractive at that stage as well.

agree 100%. I fear it is as I have said in other posts but that is not what Pete was saying. At least I didn't get that impression.

I took his statement more that the school has been contacted by or at least kick the tires on other interested P5 coaches. Showing the job is a coveted job. At the same time, SU could still really just be down to 2 people they want even if they’ve shown interest (or had interest) from other P5 coaches.

Skinn would be a poor choice, especially over Hodgson. His offense and schemes aren’t good. He’s Kim English 2.0. I’d rather have Gmac in that case. This is what made me nervous about injecting a brand new AD into the hiring process so late in the game.

I could be wrong but the assumption made online is that he wasn’t interested because he verbally agreed to an extension. If he is the mystery man that announcement gives a baseline from which Syracuse could negotiate. Also provides coverage for both parties if a deal can’t be worked out.

Shaheen is a P5 coach. Was linked awhile back. He got a lot of hate here. All it takes is one other big east guy to be interested for Thamel to be right.

A 3 bid big east league with not future along with Pitino and dbag billionaire along and Hurley’s UConn may not be where some of those guy want to stay.

Thought someone said we were interviewing Hurley as well. That would be "multiple"...
