That would blow minds from coast to coast.few/gonzaga?
That would blow minds from coast to coast.few/gonzaga?
I know for a fact that someone whose name sounds like "shirts," spoke with Syracuse on Wednesday. Not saying that I know he is the mystery man, but..
Thanks for sharing. I wonder if we’ll ever find out the specifics of what the other factors were. This is what a lot of people don't understand. There is no "offer" unless terms are agreed on. We weren't able to come up with the money he wanted for NIL, and there were also multiple other factors about the Syracuse job that led him to not want to be here. So there was no offer to turn down.
After that was made clear, we told him we were moving on. His agent has been working the media to control the narrative surrounding his candidacy at several schools for weeks.
What matters most is that he was the number one option on our board, and we couldn't land him.
The endless possibilities. Can't be Otz, he's at a P5. Schertz is a shocker because everyone thinks he's extended already, but it sounds like a verbal agreement - and maybe the buyout doesn't kick in until after this season ends?
Nope dash said noT
hat would blow minds from coast to coast.
That is ridiculous. The sham wow guys commercial must be watched over and over again. Here's the solution.
We install a handicap system, similar to golf.
On Nov. 1, each school must publicly declare their NIL and Rev. Share total.
For each game, the higher spending program will spot the lower spending program 2 points for every million dollar differential.
This number will be fully auditable and acts of deceit are punishable by either (a) death or (b) having the 1-877-KARS-4-KIDS jingle played on a continuous loop at every practice the following year.
#foolproof
you don't think say Schertz would be a shocker?Yeah idk I think dasher is enjoying watching us squirm.
Otz and schertz but idk if that’s the huge shocker doesn’t seem that hugeee
I was at Tampa also sporting Cuse gear. You didn't ask me, but the candidate would have to be real and spectacular for it not to be Gerry.FWIW, was at Tampa today wearing Cuse gear. Cuse fans I ran into also wearing their gear and talked with were unanimous, they want Gerry. Small sample size, it was about half a dozen people but I thought it was worth noting.
Juli is a Gerry stan. Did not expect we were going to get her opinion, but here it is lol.
Aw jeez, Edith!!!Julie thought bitty ball with the Boeheim brothers was SU’s best season ever. Could care less what she thinks about who the next coach should be or maybe Buddy is the mystery man. LOL
That leaves:
Josh Schertz - could be on the fence between the Cuse offer and a big raise to stay put
Jay Wright - maybe he misses the action
Mark Few - seems way out of left field, but he's tight with Boeheim
Billy Donovan - probably about done in the NBA
The way you’re explaining this I’m expecting Jesus to float down and start coaching.you don't think say Schertz would be a shocker?
FWIW, was at Tampa today wearing Cuse gear. Cuse fans I ran into also wearing their gear and talked with were unanimous, they want Gerry. Small sample size, it was about half a dozen people but I thought it was worth noting.
Same here man. Been doing what I do forever in town here, so MANY Cuse folks come to me for Rx., some seriously connected some not, don’t even have to ask anymore as it’s just offered up most times in conversation.I graduated from Newhouse a long time ago. I don't mind the question at all. I have said this a number of times but I never set out to get information. Somewhere along the line, people from all quarters began telling me things. From all over. The athletic dept. the media. Nothing I ever set out for. Being retired now, I am finally going to use my Newhouse degree to do a baseball podcast. In a million years I wish the same thing would happen with that.
that is a good point, many fans sphere of reference is pretty smallMy brother and our best highschool buddy want Gerry. I told them about Hodg a few days ago... They had no idea who he was... Mentioned Schertz, TJO, and Byington to them today... They're like "Who??"
A lot of casual Cuse fans know nothing outside their own orbit, especially on coaches... So not surprising.
Bring someone in that can bring in players and start winning, and they'll all be on board fast. Winning solves a lot
Why do you need AI to summarize these options unless you don't watch college basketball? Can someone (or AI) summarize the potential options as we see them right now?
- TJO - unclear if he's in or out at the moment
- Schertz
- Hodgson - is he really out or negotiating?
- Gerry M
- mysterious non-P5 coach in the tournament
Is that the current list?
you don't think say Schertz would be a shocker?
I was a finance assistant on a congressional campaign. Basically involved researching possible donors, their contact info, and logging calls made to them w the candidate.5-6 part timers would do it. It’s been on my mind a ton too having raised 20 million for a struggling non profit during CoVid just simply putting in the effort to hunt available grants that were a match. That was offering nothing but reputational benefit and services that were antiquated.
Put enough minds on here together and it could be fixed to manage public donations alongside everything else. Hell, getting donors on the same page too - I’m sure enough of us have worked a boardroom or leadership meetings enough to corral some egos with a strong message and vision…
Honestly? We’ve been talking about him for a year and a half and only stopped like two weeks ago; I’d be happy but wouldn’t call that shocking, exactly.
I did notice your P5 statements have been…carefully worded.![]()
I took a few hours off for dinner and drinks, and wow coming back to this is interesting. We now turn this thread over to the insomniac Easterners and the Orange faithful west of the Appalachians. Please don’t write 20 pages for us to catch up on at breakfast. And if you do, make sure they are funny.![]()
