That said, let’s say if we go with GMac, we have $12 million in NIL. And let’s say if we go with Josh Schertz, we would have $8 million in NIL.

Who do you go with in a situation like that?

Bryan Blair already said in one of the first times he sat in front of a microphone at SU that it used to be you hired the best possible coach you could. But in this day and age, coaching isn’t as important. NIL money (and talent on the court) are now a huge consideration.

I think many of us have speculated that SUAD BB has been weighing a decision like this. His early comments may have foreshadowed what he is going to do with his first big decision as SUAD.

I think he doesn’t care about national perception. He wants to win. And if he does pick GMac, a big consideration was/is NIL money.

My personal presence was to hire Josh Schertz. But I thought GMac would be a big upgrade and a good hire. Provided the powers that be are going to back him with their wallets,

As a season ticket holder for Siena, I've watched every home game up close. Gerry has definitely evolved, but if he doesn't hire an offensive savant, lord help us all.

With proper NIL, he will get the players, but he needs to hire the right coaches for creativity. The Duke game was great, but Siena had some games that the team really struggled.

He ran a lot of ISO and needs to blow up his playbook and start from scratch. Hopefully he does that. The MAAC is not P4.

I'd take the better coach all day long. Money doesn't win games.

Gerry also has a reputation for being a hard ass. I like that style and it might work at Siena but will it resonate with today's multi-million dollar prima donnas?

If Gerry has success right away, I cannot imagine how smug JAB will be on the national media circuit. He pushed Gerry for his replacement and wasn’t taken seriously, so he can do media rounds to needle Kent and others.

I was thinking Blackwell for sure. And Ryan Beaury. Maybe Corasanti gets rehired. Maybe Ben Lee gets the job at Siena. And AO ends up at one of the places.

I can't emphasize enough how much I hate this. I will support Gmac 1000% but this is so ridiculous. We're doing the same exact thing as hiring Autry! Did nobody learn their lesson these last 3 years?

It was very evident by year 1 or 2 that Autry couldn't coach, but we were forced to give him a 3rd year "because he's a Syracuse legend ". Imagine how hard it will be to fire Gerry if its clear he also cant get it done. His leash will be huge! We have to make the tournament next year, full stop and no excuses. It has been done countless times with new coaches. I'm sick of the waiting and giving time. The time is now
