No they are not. GMac is a young coach and he should take a lower salary, but his rumored salary at Syracuse is near the bottom of the ACC. I fear that NIL may be middle of the pack at best.

I have a feeling the nil money is being falsely reported to make us feel better about gmac.

I was thinking Blackwell for sure. And Ryan Beaury. Maybe Corasanti gets rehired. Maybe Ben Lee gets the job at Siena. And AO ends up at one of the places.

So our "Coach search options after Autry" ended up being no search at all. How underwhelming.

That isn't what Thamel reported. He said the NiL with Gerry would be upper ACC and maybe more. Now, he may be wrong about that, But I choose to believe him.

It's a moving target every year. What he thinks is upper ACC right now may not be upper tier next year.

It wasn't a real national search. It was all fake to get to GMac like it has been the plan for weeks. People who believe we did a true national search and GMac was the best aren't being real. This was the plan all along especially after he won the MAAC tournament.

First, I have no inside info. Let’s make that clear,

That said, let’s say if we go with GMac, we have $12 million in NIL. And let’s say if we go with Josh Schertz, we would have $8 million in NIL.

Who do you go with in a situation like that?

Bryan Blair already said in one of the first times he sat in front of a microphone at SU that it used to be you hired the best possible coach you could. But in this day and age, coaching isn’t as important. NIL money (and talent on the court) are now a huge consideration.

I think many of us have speculated that SUAD BB has been weighing a decision like this. His early comments may have foreshadowed what he is going to do with his first big decision as SUAD.

I think he doesn’t care about national perception. He wants to win. And if he does pick GMac, a big consideration was/is NIL money.

My personal presence was to hire Josh Schertz. But I thought GMac would be a big upgrade and a good hire. Provided the powers that be are going to back him with their wallets,
