Why ignore what Thamel said about our Nil?

I’m not, I’m just surprised at what Norlander reported. Thamel also seemed to think it was going to be an outside hire.

Bottom line, as most here. I will support Gerry and I hope to god it works out. It just seems like a small program move.

I think the biggest questions are the coaching and GM hires. Who is he bringing on to the staff. We need an “offensive coordinator” of sorts.

I think Hopkins as an assistant would be fantastic but Jake already said that’s not happening. Next best thing, would be Hopkins as the GM. That would give me a lot of faith. Hopkins has a lot of connections. And then if he could put together a top notch staff I would feel more comfortable. No doubt tha Gerry will get the guys to play hard. But who’s going to help with X&O’s and recruiting.

Hopefully the money we are saving on not going outside of the family we spend on high end assistants.

Thamel also said a number of big name and P4 coaches were in the mix and interested in the job... In reality, that looks like PR posturing from the school and the money was only being offered to GMAC ...and hence, it was always gonna be GMAC.

Point being, what's truth and what's just PR talking points from Thamel?? Not sure we know...

Heard him and Schertz actually got into a fist fight over the job outside of the Melo center. They both wanted the job that bad, but after that display we had no choice but to go with Gmac. This job was beyond coveted by every coach in America.
