Brutal loss but still hoping red can finish strong
Well after today I agree. I had some hope that we were better than we actually were.LOL We lost to Hofstra and BC we wouldn't be good against anyones schedule
1. Josh SchertzWell now that this coaching experiment is officially over, we can put an official list together for the AD.
We’ll probably be one of the top programs, if not the top, looking for a new coach this offseason. Hopefully we’ll have our pick of our top choice. Aka Schertz. At the halfway point in the season, Skinn and Schertz are currently neck and neck. Tied for first in the Atlantic 10 with 17-1 (5-0) records.
I don’t think we can go wrong with either option. If we can’t land one of these guys to replace Red we are doing something seriously wrong.
My fear is there will be fierce competition for both and we will be left with a lower tier option.
George Mason’s KenPom rating is way below Saint Louis. Skinn has only been a head coach for 3 years. Schertz is in like his 13th year, only 5th in D1. I want a proven guy.Saint Louis about to beat a good Richmond team by 30 to go to 17-1. Ironically Saint Louis and George Mason are in the same conference but only play each other once: the last game of the regular season. Also, South Florida plays on ESPNU tomorrow. Hodgson has them at 11-6 right now.
FWIW Trilly Donovan has alluded to Schertz's camp not being interested in SU. He's not wrong on these things. I want Schertz, but don't get your hopes up.1. Josh Schertz
2. Tony Skinn
I’m not sure what that says about the state of our program if we can’t even garner interest from him. He’s at SLU for Christ’s sake.FWIW Trilly Donovan has alluded to Schertz's camp not being interested in SU. He's not wrong on these things. I want Schertz, but don't get your hopes up.
We've gone down this rabbit hole before, but now that it's becoming more concrete, he's the most sought-after coach on the market right now, and has all the leverage in who he chooses. That includes waiting another year for a larger program, which I could see.I’m not sure what that says about the state of our program if we can’t even garner interest from him. Where did you see this?FWIW Trilly Donovan has alluded to Schertz's camp not being interested in SU. He's not wrong on these things. I want Schertz, but don't get your hopes up.

His cbb Discord. He was pretty certain of it.Where is this at?
Got proof of this?FWIW Trilly Donovan has alluded to Schertz's camp not being interested in SU. He's not wrong on these things. I want Schertz, but don't get your hopes up.
I do think Skinn is more attainable for that reason (JS will have his pick of positions). I’d be fine with Skinn. Heck, literally any coach is a better option than Red. We do have the absolute worst coach in P5.We've gone down this rabbit hole before, but now that it's becoming more concrete, he's the most sought-after coach on the market right now, and has all the leverage in who he chooses. The program may be getting a hard dose of reality with the candidates who are actually interested in SU.

Maybe his agent is upping the anteFWIW Trilly Donovan has alluded to Schertz's camp not being interested in SU. He's not wrong on these things. I want Schertz, but don't get your hopes up.
Might be another reason Hodgson is more realistic and likely.Interesting I am not there, so I don't know but it seems strange he wouldn't be interested.
Realistic, maybe. I don’t think I would use the term “likely”Might be another reason Hodgson is more realistic and likely.
His name is all over almost every athletic building on campus. But I do think Skinn could be best choice.Realistic, maybe. I don’t think I would use the term “likely”
Does Lally have that much pull that he can unilaterally influence the next coaching hire? I hope he’s more pragmatic than that.
If SU doesn’t pony up financially, they probably can’t afford him. These guys making millions a year at mid-major, non-football schools are at the top of the food chain. I know I’ll get hammered for saying this, but to get anyone decent, this administration is going to have to truly make investments at all levels of the program. JB definitely gave a huge hometown discount; the days of not opening the checkbook have played a role in why the program is no longer seen as a destination job.I’m not sure what that says about the state of our program if we can’t even garner interest from him. If kiyan's last name was Jones no one would care about him. OverratedWhy would Melo and his wife want Kiyan part of this dumpster fire?
Can't see Melo wanting his son to hear boo's being on a bad team, and if things don't get a lot better and Red is still here that's going to happen next year.
