Not that it matters because I have no say, but after quickly researching some of these names you guys have tossed out, I'm a Shertz guy for now. Key being he's won everyplace he's been.

I think Hodgson is still a good candidate due to his recruiting, NE relationships (Lallys), and modern basketball approach. It's not like he's stumbling at USF. He's 57-35 in three seasons as a HC, he's over .600 in his first year there and they're at 75 in KP (right behind SU at 71) and I'll bet my house that SU has a higher payroll than USF.

... when people hear analytics based in college basketball and people talk about Alabama basketball, they think just in-game decisions. And that is a part of it. So that piece of it for me is knowing, obviously, your players’ leverage is on both sides of the ball. And then understanding when and where we should play guys. We take deep dives about every four games throughout the season and look at our lineup analysis and make sure we’re playing the right five guys together on the floor at the same time. We’ll look at a five-man lineup analysis all the way down to two-man lineup analysis. And we get a good idea of what’s clicking on both sides of the ball. I had this conversation in the film room yesterday with our players. And I said, one thing I can promise you is, I’m gonna do my best to coach you with facts, not opinions, right?

From what I know about schertz he’s not interested with Cuse like Cincinnati a lot. If he did somehow want Cuse he’s hopefully option 1. Option 2 for me would be Luke Murray at UConn, another offensive genius who helped UConn a lot.

Flavor of the month crap. It’s like a coach wins a game on Thursday and these posters are like we have to get him right away!

Then they lose to Lemoyne 3 days later and the same posters are posting about the next coach.

We need a dude that has as much experience as a HC at the P5 level as we can get.

Anyone who mentions another coach that is retired should be banned from posting about future coaching candidates. That goes for Tony Bennett, Bruce Pearl, and Jay Wright. I’d add Billy Donovan into that group as well.

If this is true, and no reason to think it isn't, you have to make him change his mind if he is your number 1. Wildhack has to earn his money. We are in no position to settle if Syracuse sees someone as a clear #1 choice.

I don't mind that. He's an interesting option. Would make things easier if USF closes the regular season strong.

Hard to judge solely based on the first year at a new program. That will be my stance with the first year of our new coach. Things you want to see are the system being implemented (hopefully an exciting brand of basketball), players playing hard, and passion being installed within the program. I haven't watched enough of his games this year to judge him and how he is changing the program.

We are a top ten team in total wins. We have the biggest Facility in ncaa basketball that will hold the most fans when we start winning. Coaches would love to coach here unless we just want cheap and that’s what we will get.
