To provide valuable input on the next hire, yes I do trust him to know who would be good and who wouldn’t be good. To run a program, absolutely not, I want to see him climb up the analyst rankings at ESPN.

I have a new leader in clubhouse, name has been somewhat mentioned before is John Groce at Akron. Dude was fired at Illinois, but he wins at Akron. It’s a new era and Syracuse has the GM to help with the talent acquisition part which I think was his shortcoming at Illinois. Worth a second chance? This hire needs to be about stability and raising the floor of the program. A product the fan base will trust and reenergize the dome. You’re telling me when UConn hired Hurley they expected what they have seen from results. Maybe a guy like Groce won’t catch lightning in a bottle and perform at that level, but with the increased resources and infrastructure, he is a guy that I think will deliver reasonable results and rebuild the floor of the program atleast. Anything bigger than that is gravy.

I had floated Devo as an INTERIM coach for the rest of the year on an earlier post and I agree with you. Guarantee they would play like an inferno and not be soft like they are now.

Im not sure you’re insane for this vision, but this would be an insane move for post Autry. I’d be hesitant to go McNamara even because I cant see going back to back Syracuse guys and I always thought GMac was a better coach.

Agree but I think 3 years is the standard, if you’re an AD you have to worry about the optics. Coaches aren’t going to want to go somewhere if they think they’ll have a very short leash

Actually 5 years is the average standard for an initial D1 men’s basketball coaching contract.
