Coach Search Options after Autry

Exactly. I also think a lot of posters blame this situation on Wildhack, and are overly negative because now they don't think he can make a good basketball choice. I have a feeling that we end up with a hire that satisfies a shockingly large percentage of this message board.
Agree.

Hodgson has been linked to SU since the fall as a possible replacement. Gotta believe he will be among the front runners.

Takayo Siddle, UNC Wilmington is an interesting name to track for ACC openings. Headed for 5th straight 20 win season (18-3 currently). 39 years old. Plays aggressive style at both ends. Has done well with NIL. Played and coached at NC State.
For Anyone curious, UNCW Wilmington is on right now.

Oklahoma will likely be in the market again. Porter Moser fizzled out there. Before anyone tells me they aren’t a threat, let me remind you they’re an SEC school with air Jordan branding thanks to Blake Griffin

Someone tell me again why we aren’t Jordan Brand with Melo, Jordan’s agent, and his own daughter connected to our university?

It's going to be a lot more competitive for hiring a top coach than some people are imagining.

Picture that it's the bottom of the 9th and the score is tied with two outs. Do we want a singles hitter or a big stick at the plate?

If you look at the 10 schools involved it's somewhat random. I understand the big state universities, but why Marquette? Why San Diego State?

Nike said no. I wouldn't be shocked to see us be an Adidas school in the future.

I was relatively cool noon as compared to Shertz especially, and Skinn to some degree. In watching this video, I do get a good sense of his general character and overall vision of building a program. I can see him being very successful here.

A couple questions; what is the buyout as he is in year one of a six year contract? Is he still interested in Syracuse having lived the last 8 or so years in the South? Would he leave USF one year after being their big splash hire on the heels of the unfortunate death of their recent coach?

He's a huge Bills fan. Probably doesn't have a big buyout. He strikes me as a classic upstate guy that went down south to follow Oats.

Need to get him back here... he's starting to get a bit of a drawl...

What's the definition of a classic upstate guy? Someone who drives around in a pick up truck, goes hunting and fishing with his high school buddies, wears jeans and a baseball cap year round, and depending on the weather either a flannel or a t-shirt, and drinks Genny or Utica Club, but since he's a Bills fan, maybe has upgraded to Labatts.

Labatts is a downgrade.

Wouldn't be surprised if Moser ends up back at Loyola as I think Valentine is going to get a pink slip too.

As someone who lived in New Berlin, Johnson City and went to undergrad and grad at Cuse and brags about being from upstate NY while now living in NYC, here is my definition:

** Def wears a ball cap (why is this even a question, we all do)
** Drinks Batt Light. Once you get up there in age a bit, you go light beer. Come on now.
** If it's 40 degrees, that's where you got a hoodie on with cargo shorts.
** Building off that, if its 40 degrees, you get to make jokes like "oh, this is skinny dippin' weather in upstate"
** Def hits up Cayuga Lake during the summer, The Thirsty Owl while there because you're classy.
** You've never ever had ranch with your wings.
** The biggest abomination of the 21st century is that a dozen isn't the default amount of a single order of wings across the globe.
** You got wings at The Airport Inn in Binghamton before it burned down and don't think they are quite as good now after the rebuild.
** Nothing wrong with a good pair of jeans.
** You know you spend your money on a good pair of boots and tires. Ain't going cheap when keeping my body from hitting the ground.
** Drinking in two feet of snow in the woods while in high school was normal. Local cops knowing who you were when they had to break it up eventually was also normal.
** You've screamed for JB to get out of the zone more times than you've prayed to the god of your choice, but you defend him against outsiders who never understood he was one of us.
** Upstate NYers stick together. Your sworn enemy from that thing at the bar playing darts may have you ignoring each other at opposite ends of the Harry L Pub, but if he needs need a jump, you give him a jump. But you still don't say a damn word to him. You just nod to each other after.
