Coach Search Options after Autry

Hoiberg was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and his parents went to Nebraska. His kid plays there. Fred now has that program rolling like never before.

Fred is Midwest through and through. He has also owned a cabin for a long time in Minnesota that he loves to go to.

Kansas maybe but otherwise he is happy at Nebraska.
This is incorrect. He was born in Ames and his parents worked at Iowa state. Nicknamed the mayor because he received several votes in the Ames election for mayor lol.

They give me hope. That roster doesn’t scream huge NIL. Just a bunch of guys who can shoot, share the ball, and play defense. It’s coaching.

What's the definition of a classic upstate guy? Someone who drives around in a pick up truck, goes hunting and fishing with his high school buddies, wears jeans and a baseball cap year round, and depending on the weather either a flannel or a t-shirt, and drinks Genny or Utica Club, but since he's a Bills fan, maybe has upgraded to Labatts.

As someone who lived in New Berlin, Johnson City and went to undergrad and grad at Cuse and brags about being from upstate NY while now living in NYC, here is my definition:

** Def wears a ball cap (why is this even a question, we all do)
** Drinks Batt Light. Once you get up there in age a bit, you go light beer. Come on now.
** If it's 40 degrees, that's where you got a hoodie on with cargo shorts.
** Building off that, if its 40 degrees, you get to make jokes like "oh, this is skinny dippin' weather in upstate"
** Def hits up Cayuga Lake during the summer, The Thirsty Owl while there because you're classy.
** You've never ever had ranch with your wings.
** The biggest abomination of the 21st century is that a dozen isn't the default amount of a single order of wings across the globe.
** You got wings at The Airport Inn in Binghamton before it burned down and don't think they are quite as good now after the rebuild.
** Nothing wrong with a good pair of jeans.
** You know you spend your money on a good pair of boots and tires. Ain't going cheap when keeping my body from hitting the ground.
** Drinking in two feet of snow in the woods while in high school was normal. Local cops knowing who you were when they had to break it up eventually was also normal.
** You've screamed for JB to get out of the zone more times than you've prayed to the god of your choice, but you defend him against outsiders who never understood he was one of us.
** Upstate NYers stick together. Your sworn enemy from that thing at the bar playing darts may have you ignoring each other at opposite ends of the Harry L Pub, but if he needs need a jump, you give him a jump. But you still don't say a damn word to him. You just nod to each other after.
that's pretty funny. i admit i hit almost 75% of those.

Which one of you is Tyler in Binghamton who called in to last nights Coaches show asking Red who do you think will be the best candidates for your job???
Tyler Betsey Burner on Twitter is claiming Responsibility, formally Eddie Lampkin Burner and Blumpkin

Exactly. I also think a lot of posters blame this situation on Wildhack, and are overly negative because now they don't think he can make a good basketball choice. I have a feeling that we end up with a hire that satisfies a shockingly large percentage of this message board.
Well, to address this, let's shake things up this time. Let's actually let Wildhack make the decision on the next hire.

Would like to see SU reach out to Bruce Pearl. He’s had his issues but the program would instantly be back in the national picture.
There’s a word called retired that apparently you don’t understand.

I'm as unhappy with Red as anyone, but you have to be a huge POS to do something like that.

It has been confirmed (in the past few years) that there are a lot of angry and maladjusted douchebags in this country that absolutely love being douchebag haters. No morals and no guilt for acting appalling repeatedly.

... and some of them live in every college fanbase.

These people suck and have failed at being human.

It's no excuse - just a sad reality.

There's nothing funny about that. Another example of the Twitter verse nameless and callous culture that kills empathy. Whoever thinks that is funny just imagine someone doing that to your son, daughter, father, mother or friend. Just another example of a cancer spreading through society.

I was relatively cool noon as compared to Shertz especially, and Skinn to some degree. In watching this video, I do get a good sense of his general character and overall vision of building a program. I can see him being very successful here.

A couple questions; what is the buyout as he is in year one of a six year contract? Is he still interested in Syracuse having lived the last 8 or so years in the South? Would he leave USF one year after being their big splash hire on the heels of the unfortunate death of their recent coach?

From what I've been told it might be his wife that needs the convincing for him to head back up north
