A good friend of mine who is a pitt grad and happens to be female, and pretty locked into the athletic program there was stunned we even hired her as an assistant ad.

I bet they would’nt be stunned if they saw the pay cut she prob took. I bet you get someone real cheap when they’re being fired AND sued.

Second Hop has donor connections as well, doesn't mean he is getting the job. So why are people suddenly panicking because Lykes has one person in her corner? Again I would look at the names who are on the committee. They strike me as people that would have a good grasp on what is needed. People need to stop panicking and just let those evaluating to do their job. If the new Chancellor is already in place and also is "pro athletics ", I would imagine he is going to want a strong AD.

Fair point. This whole thread is the place everyone comes to overreact.

I think we’re reading real time different agendas being floated from donors. No doubt people are in different camps and being asked who they would prefer and support, now it’s just finding the majority.

I think what I’m really hearing is that if that Lallys are on board with a hire it’s going to take some sort of craziness to go a different direction

And USF ain't making the Tournament. That league is a disaster.

I will let jncuse do the heavy lifting here, but to say USF isn't making the tournament tells me you just don't want him as coach.

They are in almost 90% of the Bracket Matrix brackets. Currently, their NET is 52. Much lower NET teams have gotten at-large bids. 2-2 in Q1 wins. It wouldn't be difficult at all to see them winning the American tournament. They will certainly be favored to do so.

There's constant motion, cutting, back screening, etc. Each team operates as a cohesive unit. It's never on a single player to resort to one-on-one garbage. There's no reason this can't be the culture at SU.

I have a theory that a majority of posters, undoubtedly all of whom love basketball, don't watch many games outside of when Syracuse plays.

Because anyone who does sees teams who perform at a much higher level of execution on both sides of the ball, every single night college basketball is televised. That includes teams from mid-tier conferences, who aren't loaded with four and five-star recruits, and who aren't loading up on portal talent greatness.

Teams that are coached well, play hard, and execute properly. Teams that do the little things that make all the difference, like show proper spacing, movement off the ball, purposeful screening, boxing out, and the list goes on and on.

The difference between how many of these perform and what we see is stark.

Gotcha. The question is does he agree with her and willing to go all in to push the other members? Richmond at one point indicated she was out but then indicated she was in the process. That doesn't mean she is selected, it just means she's got a seat currently in musical chairs. Either way thank you for sharing!
