At this point I’d take any other option other that CBH even thought I support Gerry..

CBH has high energy but doesn’t sound polished and I think his deal will get old.. And for a guy that this was his dream job to be dragging this out and making Cuse look desperate doesn’t sit well

There is literally nothing in this post that I agree with.

• You don't like Hodgson because you don't like the way he speaks?
• There have been many "leaks" saying this is a done deal.
• Why would GMac "remove himself"? Why? If nothing else, remaining in the running would put him in a position to better his deal with Siena.

also, sometimes these guys are asked to feed some misdirection, too and/or are purposefully fed it for strategic reasons.

i have a feeling BH/Syracuse doesn't want it to appear they had BH locked up a while ago because that's what all the original chatter was.

Wait for USF to get eliminated and then pay attention.

And once Providence moves on now you are starting to hear maybe he stays at USF when that was never talked about before but since Providence seems to be moving on now the USF talk starts.

Sitting Head Coaches while the teams season is going on, unless they signed an extension with the school they are currently with, will typically not comment by saying they are headed to another place or officially remove themselves from the candidacy of a place they are linked with until the season is over for them. The one exception is College Football this last cycle when the hires were made public of the two G5 coaches who had the next stops publicly announced. The portal opened during a period where they could have theoretically been playing still. The calendar in Basketball now is much better. Hodgson and GMAC for that matter is going about their business as they should be doing until their season is officially over and the postgame press conference is over. It was really unprofessional of JB to air out a personal conversation he had with Gerry where he shared that BC and GT reached out to him.

BH has been openly lobbying for this gig for a year plus. He’s from upstate and wasn’t a player at a larger blue blood.

Our largest donor has been actively involved and just happens to be season tix holders at the same school he coaches at currently.

Red and his entire contingent were relieved from duty immediately and have at least insinuated they were submarined by same donor/coach candidate for over a year.

Board members have made clear they are going to get this right and make a big hire.

If Bovada still had the bet up for Bh +700 I’m somewhere between 1k and 10k on that bet.

I think the minute USF loses this is ovah

Goodman seems to think that SU’s NIL offering will be about $8 million. Seriously? It was $8 million this past season. He immediately loses credibility with his NIL projection.

Syracuse had to stretch to get to last season’s NIL amount with several one time or first time donations. We aren’t just starting at $8 million again with that amount the floor amount every year automatically per insiders.

I agree to a point with not officially releasing it but if it’s locked up and accepted then other coaches who interviewed would have been told already and had to move on .. Some would say they are no longer interested .. it’s just how it works .. People would know and it would leak some clues that someone has been hired

Gerry being associated with the SU position, even if he knows with certainty that he is a distant second, does nothing but elevate his perception and, in turn, his leverage as a coach in demand.

I’m still in the Hodgson lane, but if it’s not him, give me GMac. Maybe doesn’t check the recruiting and fundraising boxes, but he’ll bring a ton of passion and energy. Will that be enough? Hard to say.
