As in Awe shite, that’s the best we can do?!
As in Awe shite, that’s the best we can do?!
If this is truly the case (and I don’t know if it is), why are we even interested in the Syracuse basketball and sports programs in any way? We all should go find a new team to invest our time and money in. And the athletic dept can go enjoy their 5,000 fans for basketball games. They’re going to lose most of their diehard and casual fanbase, which is already teetering as it is. And it didn’t have to be this way. We could have hired the best coach on the market and been back on top of college basketball again.I said it for a long time during this whole time - I don’t ever expect Syracuse university to pay people what they should get. And let alone a basketball coach. They cry poverty with everything and aren’t serious clearly. All they had to do was meet the ask of BH. That’s it. Wasn’t outlandish and clearly didn’t happen
Now I know this could be agent play, but also could be not. And seems like not. I know how cheap this university is. You guys thought I was nuts when I said they aren’t going to pay and support like you guys think
Not to defend anyone because I have no stake in this game as anyone but a fan. But what if for the last year they were getting one NIL number from a candidate and all of the sudden the candidate gets hot and his name gets into the press as the next thing since sliced bread and he increases his NIL number by 50%? If the university doesn't believe it can consistently deliver the NIL each year that the candidate is going to need then why hire him? The dude will just quit with the first better offer he gets. How they were not prepared for this is beyond me. Everyone here knew that Red would probably fail this year and would have to hire a new coach. If I was a betting man, I would’ve taken that bet while trying to remain optimistic about Red. They certainly knew two months ago.
Great, can't wait. They should market this. Syracuse university the Providence of the acc.Not to defend anyone because I have no stake in this game as anyone but a fan. My hunch is we are already down this path with mr dart... except he was so grateful for the chance he probably said I'll bring the money. But now he will leave with the first better offer he gets where he doesn't have to do as much of the heavy lifting and he will take the team with him.
If they are seeing the same with Hodgson than they are better off not hiring him. I agree it shows a complete lack of ambition, but money is money. We all need to reset our expectations as fans... it seems we are going to be bubble program that makes it into the dance once every 3/4 years moving forward. Basically we will be providence but in a more challenging conference, so we won't make the dance as often.
As does HopkinsGerry and BH have the same agent
If the administration is ok with potentially being a bubble team every 3/4 years (which we haven’t even been lately) they better pray to God that Fran gets the football team rolling like it’s 1987-2000 or else they’ll be left out of the super conferences when the ACC inevitably implodes in a few yearsNot to defend anyone because I have no stake in this game as anyone but a fan. In other words, we are most likely cooked. If the administration is ok with potentially being a bubble team every 3/4 years (which we haven’t even been lately) they better pray to God that Fran gets the football team rolling like it’s 1987-2000 or else they’ll be left out of the super conferences when the ACC inevitably implodes in a few years
And unlimited Mario and salvos pizzaMarek turned it down because the new AD refused to cave to his request to smoke cigs during tv timeouts
Just wait until you send one there.I’d truly feel awful if I ever bring kids into this world and they have to be Syracuse fans because I am
Yup we are in the same boat as Pitt and bc. Sad.I bring no new information to the table, but everything about this process feels like an admission from the University that our time as a basketball power, or even as a relevant basketball entity is completely and entirely at an end.
They’re doing the fans dirty. It’s all about damage control if he’s the pick. You would do hop dirty like that?
Just use DLSS5.I dare you to make Julie look younger. Just kidding it’s impossible. It would break the AI cuz she’s already perfect.
IF that is true that BH was turned down by SU and he was the #1 target then that is a MUCH different situation than the doom and gloom scenarios being spewed here. My guess is that we have new tastier fish in the pond like the Iowa St coach. Someone that all the major donors could get behind. Meaning SU put together a package that he couldn’t refuse. Deal is basically done and now we have to wait a couple weeks for it to be official, but things will start to leak out unofficially. With his team in the tournament though both sides will want to keep a tight lid as much as possible.many of the posts on the last few pages, including mine, have suspected this.
This is my fear - football isn’t good enough to make the cut for the next round of realignment and we end up in whatever new iteration of the American that emergesIf the administration is ok with potentially being a bubble team every 3/4 years (which we haven’t even been lately) they better pray to God that Fran gets the football team rolling like it’s 1987-2000 or else they’ll be left out of the super conferences when the ACC inevitably implodes in a few years

Axe: Bryan Hodgson saying no to Syracuse basketball job brings up a few questions
If Bryan Hodgson doesn't want the Syracuse job, what does that say about the Syracuse job?www.syracuse.com
I have some questions.
First of all, who said no to whom here?
Was it Hodgson who said “it’s not you, it’s me” to Syracuse or the other way around?
If it was Hodgson who rejected the Syracuse job, what does that say about the Syracuse job?
Are the concerns of Syracuse not committing enough resources to NIL and paying players legit?
If it was Syracuse who passed on Hodgson, well, the question becomes a simple ... why?
I'm done planning my days around SU basketball games. I used to make sure I watched every game. Now I'll simply live my life and catch a game if I'm not busy. The days of walking up to the Dome at night in 20 degree temps are over for me! Again, this is just my preference. To each is own! This program has become a national embarrassment and I got better things to put my energy into full-time.It's 7:00 AM.
How many of you are still "done for good" because BH didn't get the job?
How many of you are drama queens who will be back if you like the next coach?
If you're done, would you mind posting your seat locations? I'm sure the fans who still support the team would hate to see those empty seats go to waste every game.
He’s the guy to figure that out![]()
