Let’s support the new coach, whoever the school decides is the best man for the job. If he wins, then we all win!
Did you not go to, or watch any games this year? Where were all "the fans who still support the team (who) would hate to see those empty seats go to waste every game."?If you're done, would you mind posting your seat locations? I'm sure the fans who still support the team would hate to see those empty seats go to waste every game.
You are a cockroach. It’s impressive.I would acknowledge this with a ‘dislike’ or ‘angry’ emote if only the Friends of Bryan had not ruthlessly silenced me.
This isn’t punishment - this is a very real scenario in terms of the lack of grace that will be provided to an in house hire.
Would be great karma to Providence.Rick Barnes retiring... Hodg to Tennessee this wknd.
If our list is Gmac and Hop is this a bad thing ?That's where I'm at -- I'm hoping that the new AD pulls some high potential candidate out of left field that isn't on our "list."
I'm afraid of where this is headed now.
Whomever the next HC is will be crucified if they don't succeed. Posts like the above are pre-emptive strikes.
I'm cautiously hopeful there is a surprise candidate better than .660 career dude that somehow has everyone mystified & really has had a cancerous effect on posts here.
But, if not, I would hope for a GMac or Schertz or Murray. And, if its GMac, I would expect him to approach the job w the same gusto & stones he's brought his entire career.
If its Hop though, I don't know. Seems past his time, but who knows?
Either way, I'll be rooting for the next HCs success.
The BOT and Big Donors need to understand that without accountability, there’s consequence. Whether they realize yet that that consequence will be there’s to own, is not this fan’s issue.Yeah same here- had the biggest amount I’d ever donated to hoops ready to go if Hodgson was hired or even a very strong other option like Martelli or Murray…. Not gonna throw it at the wall with an in house.. not unproven at least.
If it is between hop and GMAC it’s GMAC by a mile
IMO. Not even debatable. But he’d have to want to come back (not sure)
Beyond bad.If our list is Gmac and Hop is this a bad thing ?
It certainly wont amaze me when we're playing in a stripped down AAC in 2031.
But I'm happy that the basketball alums get their nepo hire.

There are over 300 coaches in D1 that we haven't linked in this thread so fingers crossed. That's where I'm at -- I'm hoping that the new AD pulls some high potential candidate out of left field that isn't on our "list."

Assuming fran has a good year what makes you think he will want to stay at su? With the mess it isIt would take a football collapse for that to happen.
As long as football keeps a seat at the big boy table, the basketball coach doesn't matter.
In crunch time a lot of teams ask their best player to make tough shots. I don't think GMAC's offense is 5d chess but it is a ton better conceptually than Red's.Yes, I've watched their games. They still rely on Doty to make TOUGH SHOTS.

Didn't get his way with Lyke so he's sticking it to SU?I also wouldn’t be shocked if one of the major donors funding the USF package for BH is JL.
That’s not true. Football needs to be great a contender for the playoffs year in and out in order to dra along a poor hoops team.It would take a football collapse for that to happen.
