Coach Search Options after Autry

Kamani Young - UConn Asst. I’ve held off posting this article, but with last nights bad news, I’m putting it out here.

Wrong assistant. We need Murray not Young if we go that route.

Def in the mix. The problem is the donors. Who will they support. If Lally is out then it’s gotta be AW on some big level and his allegiance is elsewhere. Hand is forced

I also wouldn’t be shocked if one of the major donors funding the USF package for BH is JL.
Hah just said this. You beat me. You Don’t screw with snowbirds comfort in Florida especially with the money they have ha.

The anger is at Boeheim and the reality is if it is Gerry or Hop, the fan base will turn on them. Boeheim screwed this up by not leaving in 2018. This is why we are where we are.
I know it didn't work at Washington but I really believe if we followed the original plan of Boeheim --> Hop on the original or similar timeline (i.e. 2016 - 2018) that it would've worked. Hop had the relationships and fear as one of the best recruiters on the east coast, think moving across the country killed him from that perspective. Hoping cooler heads prevail and realize that was a decade ago, if they wanted Hop back that badly should have brought him in 2023 instead of Red.

If you're going to subject us to this trolling and act like you have inside info, redeem yourself by sharing the info. Then die on that hill if it's wrong.

Metaphorically, of course 🦈
Bro, I promise you I have no inside info and have never represented having inside info. I have no connections to anybody on the hill or any candidates. I am literally just a guy that likes SU hoops and thought Hodgson was a bad choice. Reasonable minds can differ on the best path forward

Depending on who the next HC is, is doesn't matter if Hodgson walked away or we did. If Gerry or Hopkins end up as HC, then we either can't attract a good coach or we can't identify a good coach. Neither options exactly give me the warm fuzzies.

I'm trying to not panic until an actual head coach is named, but it certainly isn't looking good.

I wouldn’t call it trashing but I did take a lot of shrapnel going against the well-organized and vocal Friends of Bryan contingency of the board. Which do you think persuaded the AD the most: calling BH a goofball, the nickname Baby Shark Hodgson, the nickname The Guppy, or using the ‘angry’ emote on the pro-Hodgson posts????

But seriously folks, we should all be investing in new sunglasses because SU Hoops future is bright!!!!!

Victim mentality. You were a passive aggressive little…..

Okay, Hop ;)

But seriously.

I hope his agent is giving you a cut for all of the embarrassment you have brought on yourself here.

Recruiting didn't hurt Hop initially at UW FWIR. It was his offensive system that let him down then once the talent dried up, he was toast

According to my limited research, there has NEVER been a MAAC coach that has been hired directly to a Power conference school from the MAAC. The jump would be massive if its Gmac...

After doing some digging I think my number one guy is John Groce. I'd actually rank him about Hodgson as he already has P4 coaching experience before jumping back to the MAC with big time success there. Only making $650k so could be in line for big pay bump to jump to Syracuse, and has live in midwest his whole life so Syracuse climate shouldn't bother him that much.

I believe if HOP was coach in 2018 he would still be coaching. Also, if it did not work out we could have taken care of it sooner. BUt our good ole Jimmy B had to play DADDY BALL
