Coach Search Options after Autry

I am done making any predictions. There are so many factions, and those factions have factions. There’s only thing I’m sure of is that this process is like herding cats.

I’m just gonna sit back and see how it unfolds. I know the Heimer wants to keep it “in the family”, just not sure he has the juice to do it.

See this I agree with. Sounds just like a normal day at Syracuse.

I’m just going to wait until Thamel posts on X telling us who our new coach is.

It's intriguing as I get the impression that insiders here may even be more out of the loop than the AD search that turned out unexpected. Not to knock the insiders, I appreciate the info of what you know, the sources likely just aren't getting the info quality they used to get or things are changing really fast. You have to see the results, but the fact that the cards are being kept close to the chest you can argue is a sign of more competent leadership.
Might be the Blair factor at play.

If the Heimer wasn't a grumpy curmugeon, he would support whoever is hired and be available as a resource to that person however they see fit.

Unless I'm missing something, which can absolutely be the case with how fast you have to read to keep up with this thread, but after it was announced last night that Hodgson wasn't the guy, an insider posts that they think something could be announced today (which I think they were just speculating).

I think Jake and I both independently said that around the same time. I'd said "wouldn't be surprised if it was tomorrow;" as speculation (not inside info) in reference to the fact that Hodgson's agent wouldn't leak it if there were any way it could still be used as negotiating leverage. Getting ahead of an announcement is just one of several plausible scenarios where leaking would make sense.

I'm honestly kind of baffled how that rippled into "it's tomorrow and Hopkins is our choice because we're broke." Same thing happened when I posted the picture of Lyke with Melo. I think we're collectively a bit panicked at the moment, and with incomplete information, panic fills in the blanks with the worst. That's understandable, but personally I try to remember that when stuff is unknown it's never the best case scenario but it's never the worst case either.

So while I'm disappointed about the collective drama and about Hodgson, I'm not worried, either. Lots of fish in the sea.

Let's just hope Blair is staying calm and casting a wide net.
