All it took was hiring the right coach. 32 years of terrible coaching hires, then they got it right.

VCU has a very good chance of beating North Carolina. They’re arguably the better team without Caleb Wilson on the floor. I’d imagine PMJ will get a lot of looks with a win like others have stated.

If truly a candidate, deal should be all but wrapped up by then.

I would once again caution everyone that until a contract is signed, everyone is still in play. Offers can be revisited, feelings can be soothed and no one is out until they are officially out. I think that revisiting some of these candidates is highly likely.

There seems to be an assumption that an outsider couldn't raise funds at SU - how would anyone know? It has literally never been tried!! And it seems to work ok at just about every other school in the country.

Also, why do people suggest SU is broke? A simple google search shows the endowment is $2.1 billion and increased 10% last year (that's $200 mil increase in one year).

This endowment stuff needs to end. If it was possible other schools would do it too.

500 pages of insanity but haven’t we all said all along that we want a wide net and a real search. Put every option on the table and pick the best. Throw out the feelings and vibes.

I think (no confirmation) that SU might be concerned over the girlfriend’s age, that she was apparently a student when they started dating and that they (again apparently) have a kid and aren’t married.

Colleges these days are all about appearances and avoiding scandals.

I believe he was what we were looking for and we are what he was looking for. The only reason it didn’t happen was that he failed the vetting process. It is the only thing I can think they would explain this sequence of events.

Such a shame, they have been together who many years now?

Ok I’m 80 and not to bright. If SU is in that horrible of a financial mess it’s already over. The team needs a new coach and make a big splash in the portal. No money no. Players, no chance. I’ve lost enough sleep over this mess. If I’m still on this side of the grass when the dust settles, maybe we’ll be in OZ

SU isn't in a financial mess.

It's just not a natural NIL fit like some other places. NIL generally revolves around a few guys with money to burn, not broad based fundraising to normies that want to pay for athletes.
