Coach Search Options after Autry

But currently there is no basketball NIL collective that we can donate to. And while I am a fan of smaller donations add up, I don't think that concept works as well for NIL because of the large amount of money needed. So it would take a whole lot of $44s to make a difference.

Here is tonights math question: How many people must donate $44 in order to purchase one basketball player who is a 6th man off the bench.

PE needs an exit eventually whether it’s the first firm or the fourth. Somewhere along the line you need a strategic who picks up the “optimized” company but the school is never buying back that equity

Good point. It's not an "optimize and flip strategy." There's no strategic buyer market for the "optimized" college sports "company" ... yet. It's gotta be a contractual exit for now. PE would have to cash out on the repurchase right back to SU (what Utah did).

Olen is really really really good...

Career record of 263-129 .671 winning percentage
Multiple conference championships
2x Big West Coach of the Year
2x CCAA Coach of the year
Won NABC Pacific District Coach of the Year
Made NCAA Tournament 5 times

My only question on him is can he coach out east how would that transition work but is record and accomplishments are really good
4 of those 5 NCAA appearances were in the DII tournament.

I like the Miami Ohio coach

Linda Richman from Coffee Talk says Miami is not really Miami as it is in Oxford, Ohio, and not Miami in Florida thus is it really Miami or does it have an identity problem. Discuss amongst yourselves.

And with my Let's Make A Deal post, my math question of the day post, and now this, I think that means I have hit my limit for today and am getting slaphappy.

We could pay Special Assistant James Boeheim say a million dollars a year.

The only thing that scares me is that in Xavier where a lot of coaches go and have success he failed to make the tournament once in 4 years and was let go. That is a big red flag to do all the other coaches that have success there.

yeah, looks like pitino the younger might be on his way to sharing that distinction

Phil Martelli Jr. would be interesting...Has gotten to NCAA tournament with Bryant and now VCU...One of the criteria Wildhack posted was NCAA tournament success...He's young and certainly could do more with less given the supposed NIL restraints...Syracuse U fans remind me of St. Louis Cardinals fan...Had over 4 decades of always making "the Show", but incredibly resistant to change...The Cardinals should have went into a re-build 5 years ago, and now they're finally getting around to it now. The fan bases are incredibly similar. They value loyalty to people within the family, and the idea of drastic change scares them so much, they're willing use re-treads from the past. Example being, the Cardinals wanted to give the Managerial role to guys like Yadier Molina/Albert Pujols when neither has ever had an exposure to managing. Phenomenal players, like GMac, but very unproven as coaches. Both fan bases would rather go with unproven/nostalgic hires because it brings them comfort from the past when there is a completely new paradigm in both sports.

Rn I’m sipping some corona light no lime sitting in my undies in on the couch waiting for DoorDash on insomina cookies while constantly refreshing this thread to see news that it’s gonna be Phil Jackson taking over
