The damage that JB has inflicted on this program, particularly in the past few weeks, is truly devastating...

In a weird way if it is GMAC. I’m all for him throwing Boeheim under the bus subtly because I’m sure even he knows that this is really wrong for it to be him now optically. Even if he believes in himself to turn this around. GMAC would win over a lot of the fan base as a head coach if he is real about the situation in a way vs politician the messaging.

But currently there is no basketball NIL collective that we can donate to. And while I am a fan of smaller donations adding up, I don't think that concept works as well for NIL because of the large amount of money needed. So it would take a whole lot of $44s to make a difference.

Here is tonights math question: How many people must donate $44 in order to purchase one basketball player who is a 6th man off the bench.

If we need around $15mil to be in the above average category of teams…I’d say best player $3-5mil, 2nd best 3-4mil, 3rd $3-4.5mil 4th 2mil-3mil, 5th 1.5-2

the 6th man demands ~$1-1.5mil…that’s a lot of $44 donations

Eh I think you are overstating - I think people are implying Doty could contribute here, guess it's semantics with "fundamental". Also MAAC players succeed at the P4 level - the MOP of the tournament last year was in fact a MAAC guy I think. Who can forget the immortal Dakota Leffew? Not saying you build your program around them but it's proven every year there are kids in lower leagues and lower levels who can play, and frankly with our finances, if we want to improve we had better find some.

Well the in-family hires aren't the best coaches, so if he truly feels like we need to hire the best coaches, then he should stop talking about in-house candidates because they aren't the best options.

It’s going to be up to BB to sift through the good bits and then everything that’s JB trying to dictate things. BB will need to use JBs desire to control to his advantage by pushing him to draw people and money in vs the opposite. It’s also going to be up to him to push hard to ensure there is money and infrastructure for what seems inevitable with GMac coming in to succeed as frustrating as that is.

Whoever the coach is needs to be locked into doing a summer trip even if it’s Canada. There needs to be every ounce of energy dedicated to winning starting the day the hire is announced.
