I have only seen Sienna today but they ran modern offense (Zoom, DHO, and Horns actions are today’s modern offensive actions) of course Red also tried to run Zoom/DHO actions but it’s obvious GMac had his guys executing in a much much better manner. Also saw good backdoor sets out of their base Zoom actions which definitely isn’t a continuation of old Cuse offenses. Not to mention how often we all complained how Red didn’t run sets for shooters like Bell & Kingz but I saw multiple sets to free up Coyoe and Doty and I missed most of first half and Duke zoned a lot in second half.

Could u spend a min and further explain what them terms mean. I was a wrestler and I notice differences in the offense bye a lot but I don’t know the terms.

If resources are equal, Gerry is a more capable coach than Hodgson. He has the right demeanor, he actually can control a game from the sideline. He can play call. Hodgson does none of this. Hodgson has played in atrociously skilled leagues and has been the bully with more athleticism and physical ability. His teams don't think the game because they never have to. Notice when they were good today? when they got down by 23 and just turned it into chaos, they were drawing dead in the half court. I'm not basing this off one day of viewing, I follow and watch the AAC closely. He won with more talent, not coaching. His teams also play with an edge that borders as annoying at best, dirty at worst (ie Enis leg lock today).

never have understood why he's viewed as the slam dunk and Gerry the reach. Gerry has more upside, and the lower floor when it gets painted almost the opposite. There are concerns for Gerry, sure - but it's going to be up to those around this place to give him the support ($) he needs.

Hodgson is what he is - a talent accumulator with no in-game chops. He'll raise the floor of any program he goes to because of his ability to get talent - but If he only has equal talent in the Big East, he's going to be in for a rude awakening.

With Jim giving a discount for all those years and being top 3 in revenue, I would have thought the bball savings account side of the ledger would have grown with interest over time. Maybe that revenue went to Dome improvements, football support, Ensley Athletic center. Im just still stumped how this program is cash poor while being tops in revenue. We even left the Big East for ACC money, none of that is trickling down to bball, its all being eaten by football? It just doesn't add up.

The University takes all the money from sports. That's how it's always been. They don't see the amazing brand value of having top sports teams.

Joyce told us that applications went up something like 6-8% in the year after Melo's championship.

That gave them more cash with less financial aid, and improved their academic rating through being able to be more selective in admissions due to the surplus of applications.

Where do they think the applications are going to come from, if all those foreign students aren't welcome in the current environment?

I don’t think NIL has ever come up at the BoT. From what I understand trustees know very little about how this all works unless they’re personally involved and I don’t think any are. That's part of the problem.

And yet, weren't they one of the first schools to offer NIL and all this sports management stuff as an academic discipline?

They were ahead of the curve on the revenue side - how to make money "teaching" this new trend - when honestly, they don't seem to know the first thing about how to compete in this 'New World' they are "teaching" others about.

What about Doty's skill set makes you think he could handle FAR more athletic defenders in the ACC?

The kids quickness is absolutely off the charts to be able to create, by either going to the hole, making short jumpers or rather distributing when guys come to him, also athletic enough to make off-balance shots as well all on top of a sweet stroke from deep at an almost 35% clip from deep. Add in 7 rebs a game and 2+ assists, 85+% FT shooter and you have a Kid can who can do it all.

Most of that translates well to any level as he’s athletic as anyone at any level I’ve seen play...

He was efficient and Duke didn’t bother him at all in the first half. Second half he got banged up. Not sure what you are seeing showing he would struggle at this level? His activity off the ball alone paired with being 6-6 is a major positive before you get deeper into his game.
