I like Martelli, but that said VCU has won with every coach they’ve had in the past 25 years. They have been dominant at their level since Capel was there. Every coach since him has got a power conference gig. 4 of those coaches have been fired and Rhoades is on his way as well. Shaka too. That said I think UVA picked a good one in Odom.

You aren't wrong. But what I think those people are upset about is1. they put their name on everything and push their influence around like a bully and they put their name over Melo's. Also, and I don't know this for a fact but they don't give to NIL. Even football. They give money to things they can put their name on. At least that is what I was told. But we can't afford to be mean to boosters. And that includes all boosters if Adam W is willing to give.

Yes he may have been a front runner and yes he withdrew but it's just as likely that he did not want to be in competition with a Gmac, or Martelli, or Luke Murray or even a Hopkins and just bailed out.

I guess my question here is why when it gets out that BH turned us down it’s just posturing and getting out in front of the story from his agent but when insiders here say he was never offered the job that’s definitely the truth? Wouldn’t SU not want it to look like they were turned down? Also, if SU couldn’t match the financial offer BH wanted, then I guess you could probably spin it where both he turned them down and he was never offered the job.

But again, I obviously don’t know anything. But I’m going to be skeptical when the leaks that make the school look bad are just posturing and the ones that make them look better are obviously true

That said, I want to see how all of our supposed candidates do in the tournament.

This is why it;s so hard for me to read the posts from devendorf and all these former players on hiring gmac right now right away and pretend the family has the best ideas. Many of them lined up behind Hop, now they are lining up behind gmac, ok I get it. We need them cuz they got the big bags immediately and that matters but damn how can we keep doing this.

I don't know why would be saying that because no one knows. No one here knows if BH was offered the job? No one here knows it he was offered; he turned it down. No one knows if the University told him they were not going to hire him. In short, no one here knows what happened. I think we at some point will find out. At least I hope we do.

If you take away Gerry McNamara’s legend status at Syracuse he would never in a million years be even remotely considered for our job.

His offense is one of the worst in the entire NCAA. It even got worse his second year than the first. They don’t score. They don’t shoot threes. They don’t shoot free throws. They are horrid.
He got in the tourney by the skin of his teeth by beating a bunch of crap teams. I will say he did good turning Sienna around but he’s a million miles away from being a serious candidate for a big school.

I don’t know about yall but I’m tired of terrible stagnant offenses. I want an offensive minded coach who can help us score big. Shoot threes. Get to the line. Fast break points. All of it.
I know winning is winning. But let’s get some excitement back in the Dome!

He didn't as of last week. For a few reasons and they weren't bad reasons. Having said that, at that time, I don't believe that Gerry thought he would be offered the job. A lot easier to say no to something you haven't been offered. Same thing happened to me with Brook Burke. He might think differently now. By the way, there is no guarantee that he will be offered it now.
