Blink twice if it’s TJONot a mystery
Blink twice if it’s TJONot a mystery
So it’s Greg Paulus like I predicted.Not a mystery
It’s whether he feels he can win a national championship there and that is important to him.Why is there an assumption that Nate Oats is leaving his job at Alabama?
He has stated he’s committed to Alabama.
In seven seasons, he has averaged over 24 wins per season.
He’s one of the best coaches in college basketball and is one of the highest paid head coaches.
Who is not happy with this arrangement?
Not a mystery
Ah, interesting.Not a mystery
I wonder if we reached out to mystery candidate or if mystery candidate pulled a Fran and reached out to us?
To me it hints to Schertz but maybe TJ or Vandy coachWe have mentioned a ton of names in thread I am sure someone accidently stumbled across the name
Or we just hired the best AD possible?I wonder if we reached out to mystery candidate or if mystery candidate pulled a Fran and reached out to us?
Ok your crazy… your telling me you wouldn’t want to know the name first of a coach who is still in the tourney right now.Call me crazy but I’ll stick with Gerry if we say no this time he will absolutely never consider us again I just think burning bridges for a coach who is close to retirement makes no sense and I have no clue who the other one is….im still a bit skeptical about Blair he talks a good game but we shall see
Feel like it's already been revealed if you pay close attention, or maybe I'm looking too closely lolIf the mystery candidate is revealed to us in this thread before 8:30 EST, I will donate 5 million* to our NIL
*Schrute bucks
I would say obviously now that Blair is here, he is intensely involved in the search. So he could have someone in mind.I guess the question is... did Blair have something to do with this...
He was in the final four last year. It’s whether he feels he can win a national championship there and that is important to him.
Me eitherIf it's Otzelberger I'll never say another bad word about the athletic department
Well if tj was getting $6 million last year that’s 2 less then we payed out. Schertz is a nyc guy what if we are paying same amount in NIL?And with all our resource concerns where did Syracuse somehow be able to afford this other person? Lol idk hodge was the main person everyone wanted a few days ago and Gerry showcased on a national stage his potential I don’t see any reason to look anywhere else.
Okay, Take this for what it is worth, but I was just told that we are down to two candidates. One is Gerry. The other one, and I won't say his name because well because, would unite this board in a good way. We would all love this pick. maybe it is just spin but the thing is, it didn't come from the Syracuse side of things. Oh, and the reason I won't say the name is because 1. I wouldn't want to jinx it and 2. the grief I would take if it doesn't happen.
Why is there speculation that Nate Oats is leaving his job at Alabama?

Blair doesn’t really know about our culture yet to understand who we need that’s my concern…gross made the same mistake with Greg Robinson and look how that turned out…I would say obviously now that Blair is here, he is intensely involved in the search. So he could have someone in mind.
Also, I am not sure any candidate will totally unite the board, because some who are so locked on Gerry, are well...locked on Gerry.
Who the heck knows what NIL money will follow either candidate. I'm guessing that Blalr is working that angle also.
Think about how much goes into this decision. And all decisions are 2 way streets. Thus some of you asking would Gerry even come. Either candidate can turn in down at the end of negotiations.
As impatient as we all are, they have to get it all right, including structuring contracts etc. It does take some time. I think we know for sure by mid week next week at the latest. But if for example lawyers are involved in drawing up contracts, well, sorry to all the lawyers on here, that could drag out a day or two.
I don't think we announce until i's are dotted and t's crossed.
I wonder if we reached out to mystery candidate or if mystery candidate pulled a Fran and reached out to us?
