I have said on the board I didn’t think Schertz would be a fit at the Cuse. That was before Bryan Blair media tour. You’d have to have some really good reasons to turn down working for him and that goes for all candidates.

I’ll fully support Schertz if he’s the guy. But don’t expect recruits and fans to turn their heads because we hired the coach from St. Louis. He’s a process coach. It’ll likely take a few years.

I agree that most fans will be like ok cool, who is that.

They'll start noticing players he brings in more than anything though.

Also no matter what either new choice will get a bump just getting away from Autry. Pressers don't matter so much most of the time but you can bet these guys on our list will inspire a heck of alot more confidence than what Autry was selling.

Putting either Schertz or Gmac in a room will just be a breath of fresh air. Hell put either of them in a room now along with Fran, BB, heck even Coach Jack and Gait and we're going to be cooking with donors.

But I couldn't agree more -- you are 100% spot on. This would be a called-shot grand slam. If it is possible, SU has to make it happen.

Again, I'm not going to get my hopes up. I hope to be pleasantly surprised. But hiring someone like Scherz would be a slam dunk, and we would universally be recognized in the sports media as having landed the top guy out there.

That is why I have a hard time imagining something this good would happen to us. Why I came with it. I was so surprised. Something like this happens to you when you are on a roll. We haven't had something good happen for us in years. I mean, Freeman got hurt at the worst possible time for us.

I don't think it will. I think he's that good of a coach, as evidenced by the quick turnaround at Indiana State, and how quickly he elevated SL to an elite record / first place conference finish.

He's too professional at times. He doesnt play the media game, which matters to the casual fans. Unfortunately you have to manage the fan base these days. You dont have to leak names but you see how much of an impact Thamel's interview has on the temperature? Little things like that go a long way...Even BB saying the other day, dont believe everything online or we haven't been turned down help. It's unfortunately several days after the narrative has been set though.

I'm going to believe St. Louis offered him the 20 mil extension because he'd been talking to Syracuse.

Out of respect there's not gonna be any announcement until St. Louis loses. And I for one would like to see them beat Michigan today. I'm OK with waiting another week.

More so for my bracket that is performing in the top 10 in the pool I’m in and I would like to win since it’s been almost 20 years since I got 2nd and have never won. I want Michigan to win, but SLU looking very competitive.
