Coach Search Options after Autry

He's too professional at times. He doesnt play the media game, which matters to the casual fans. Unfortunately you have to manage the fan base these days. You dont have to leak names but you see how much of an impact Thamel's interview has on the temperature? Little things like that go a long way...Even BB saying the other day, dont believe everything online or we haven't been turned down help. It's unfortunately several days after the narrative has been set though.
Agreed, Blair is a breath of fresh air & this is coming from someone who really liked Wildhack and wanted him to stay. The thamel interview and Blair calming things down had me and the entire board do a 180.

I agree with almost everything you say in your post and appreciate the insights. But I have to disagree that he’s the most beloved player of the past 25 years. I wouldn’t put him in my top 5. Maybe I’d put him in my top 10. The 6 threes in the national title game and his 2006 Big East tourney run were magical.
“It's just tough because Gerry is the most beloved player of the past 25 years.”
who would you rank ahead of him Sherman?

I keep thinking of this scenario... Schertz comes in and gets us back to rolling. Tournaments and high seeds will get us back in a positive light nationally. Then in 5 years he gets poached by Kansas or someone like that. Then Gerry follows him after 5 more years of coaching experience and comes in when the program is rolling and back on top. Talking about setting Gerry up for success, that would be amazing.

Get ready for it.

Surely it has nothing to do with Duke not being able to throw it in the ocean and Michigan playing really well.
Surely it has nothing to do with Siena playing really good defense? And coming up with a game plan to take Duke out of their offensive game plan?
Surely it had nothing to do with Gerry being a damn good coach?
No clearly Duke was blinded by all that green!
And mesmerized by Sienas mascot Baloo!

It’s great to see he seems to be doing a good job of handling the task of walking into conversations with all these power players and in a very tactful and professional way saying “ what in the actual phruk are you knuckleheads doing? Time to get it right, get along and let’s get things where they should have been 5 years ago.”

That’s at least my take on what he’s up to in a very primitive oversimplified summary.

So why does everyone think it’s Schertz when this was posted Tuesday night?

Well, maybe he isn't. But according to a poster here he knew for a fact that Schertz interviewed with us Weds. And from the St louis side in Buffalo, it's down to Schertz or Gerry that was on Friday. Both after that Tuesday post. No one knows what is up. But Pete T wrote that we were hearing from power 5 coaches ( I know St louis isn't) but the key point is that we are active.

Wonder if the “P5 coach” was pushed out by the Blair camp

IDK. I think the money gap between SEC/Big 10 and the others also playing will continue to grow without Congressional action. If he wins here, Kentucky could say here’s $15M a year. These are just questions for discussion. I don’t pretend to know the answers, or if they even matter.
(P.S. Doing my part to hit the 1000 post mar
SU has the resources to compete.
