Depends what burning things to ground means but there are plenty of more qualified coaches to pivot too. Thamel said multiple P5 coaches were interested but I imagine that was just a line feed to him by Syracuse to counter Hodgson agents lines to Goodman,.

I guess you could look at it that way. But I think it would be ugly, on different levels

The optics wouldn’t be great and Goodman would have a field day with it, but as a fan you just hope the next guy up ends up working out.

We all do. Hopefully Schertz sees that there is only one place that he can do what he can do at Syracuse. But, we'll get who we are meant to get. Enjoy the process. We have an almost 800 page thread going. How many fanbases have anything like this? Not many, we are part of a special community.

The comparison doesn’t work. It’s not really just the name as opposed to a John smith we barely know, it’s what we know about GMAC specifically. May not do it for you, but does for others.

I love g mac but personally think he needs to move up a conference before coaching cuse. But if it was between g mac, skinn and hurley i would choose g mac.

SU is getting my $44 or my $500 and maybe even my $1,000 no matter who the coach is, but for the good of the program and my love of SU sports.

But if I'm in the position to give 7 figures, then I might look at my donation differently. Maybe 1 coach gets $500,000 but another gets 1 million. That is something for the donor to weigh. I don't really think it is petty, but in their minds a business decision. I don't think you can just say "x" to the basketball program. Who will make my dollar go further, and do I want to save my dollar for another day?

It's a fair point. And I showed a lot of frustration about it earlier and came out firing.

But that is college sports, money comes from the outside and with that comes more influence, and they have the right to spend it like they want, The whole environment is why at times I prefer where things are in pro sport where decisions are not made with such outside influence considerations.

Its just frustrating that at this current time, these power dynamics of sorts are coming into play, and don't allow for an apples and oranges choice (it appears anyway).

my opinion on this but this is why i consistently say I think NIL is a negative for a school like Syracuse, besides not having top 15 $ wise in country you think schertz or Hodgson turn us down if nil isn’t a factor?
