Kid shot 35% and 25%. He's not a night in night out ACC caliber player. What's weird is the obsession with keeping it in house and local players who are pedestrian.

He might come with Gerry, he might not. 21 points on 20 shots against the 1 seed is at least okay, is it not? Especially when he was clearly hobbled most of the second half and at least a few of those threes were heaves near the end of the game because the midmajor missing its whole bench due to injury ran out of gas.

Nobody is asking or expecting Doty to come it and be a featured player. He certainly seems like he could contribute and a) won’t be expensive, b) is an easy addition that won’t require the use of many resources, which could then be used elsewhere.

As a season ticket holder for Siena, I've watched every home game up close. Gerry has definitely evolved, but if he doesn't hire an offensive savant, lord help us all.

With proper NIL, he will get the players, but he needs to hire the right coaches for creativity. The Duke game was great, but Siena had some games that the team really struggled.

He ran a lot of ISO and needs to blow up his playbook and start from scratch. Hopefully he does that. The MAAC is not P4.

No but it is very difficult to run a great offense when you just can't shoot. The loss of Ducharme I think really hurt what Siena was trying to do on offense.

Correct and just like with Red on day 1 GMac will get my support as a fan. I have stated that many times. Doesn't mean I have to agree with the hire until it is official.

No idea where this notion came from that being a fan means you blindly agree with everything your team/program does. I can think something is stupid and still hope it works out.

If Gerry fails you can put a stake in the program. Because a bad hire this time and the fans aren't ever coming back. If this ends up being another screwup, then I'll stick with football, and womens basketball.
A 13th year of bad basketball at the age of 80 is enough, especially when during the time when I was a teenager we lost 27 in a row.

I can't emphasize enough how much I hate this. I will support Gmac 1000% but this is so ridiculous. We're doing the same exact thing as hiring Autry! Did nobody learn their lesson these last 3 years?

It was very evident by year 1 or 2 that Autry couldn't coach, but we were forced to give him a 3rd year "because he's a Syracuse legend ". Imagine how hard it will be to fire Gerry if its clear he also cant get it done. His leash will be huge! We have to make the tournament next year, full stop and no excuses. It has been done countless times with new coaches. I'm sick of the waiting and giving time. The time is now

The difference is that Gerry has shown he can coach D1 basketball well.

Nothing is guaranteed and he could definitely fail. But we know more about him than we knew about Red. The similarities are surface-level, at most.
