Here are some numbers. In the past 5 years, NIL spending in men's college basketball has tripled from $314 million to $933 million. I would call that a fast moving number. The average ACC men's basketball NIL spending is $7 to $10 million. So, if the average increases 30% for next season, (is that conservative?) that gets you to $9 to $13 million for the average ACC roster. So, if the rumor is $12 million in NIL, that makes Syracuse competitive, but about the average.Oh, it won't be in a few years that is for sure. But you and I both don't know the numbers and I wouldn't argue that I do. But I will tell you that I have been told by someone in a place to know that money is coming out of the woodwork if it is Gerry
Not remotely close to the unqualified hire that Autry wasI can't emphasize enough how much I hate this. I will support Gmac 1000% but this is so ridiculous. We're doing the same exact thing as hiring Autry! Did nobody learn their lesson these last 3 years?
It was very evident by year 1 or 2 that Autry couldn't coach, but we were forced to give him a 3rd year "because he's a Syracuse legend ". Imagine how hard it will be to fire Gerry if its clear he also cant get it done. His leash will be huge! We have to make the tournament next year, full stop and no excuses. It has been done countless times with new coaches. I'm sick of the waiting and giving time. The time is now
maybe read some of my posts in this thread smart guyYou have Jim Boeheim’s orange crammed so far down your throat you can’t even speak, I’m sure.
Good post. I have heard, and take this with a grain of salt or two, but it might be north of that for Gmac. At least at the start. I would bet that was the selling point for BBHere are some numbers. What a moronI hope hodgson and providence smack us by 40 to get back at our dumpster fire of an organization
GT hasn’t been good at basketball in 20 years, haven’t made the tournament as an at large since 2010, and has no NIL support. They definitely don’t care about basketball which instantly makes them a worse jobof course it is. They play in a P4 conference and have a higher basketball profile. What's so great about Providence ?

Thamel has a brand to protect. Hoops Weiss doesn’t.How did Dick Weiss get this scoop before Thamel.
Or anyone who didn’t grow up idolizing George Mikan?
He will be on the roster but doubt he will be our biggest additionCongrats to Gerry, I will be rooting for him and this program no matter what. I believe he is his own man, but it's clear that Jim and other influential members of the "Syracuse family" did all they could to get him this position.
If Gerry doesn't put together a serious staff and attack the portal then the past 5 years have been for absolutely nothing. No offense to Gavin Doty, but I can't take any of this seriously if a MAAC player ends up being our biggest or most hyped up addition.
They definitely do great background checks, which is a must these days.Don’t sell search firms short. I once had what I thought was a squeaky clean candidate with a disqualifying conviction in their history. Search firm saved my ass.
Gerry has his ankle replacement surgery tomorrow. So if it's not done today it maybe a few daysI don’t think this is done yet…I think it’s headed there. But I don’t think it’s done..
