Wouldn’t be surprised if Barnes retires at Tennessee that JP Estrella isn’t a possible portal candidate for SU. He’s a big physical kid, but has dealt with injuries. He’s a redshirt sophomore with two years left.

This has been said by pretty much every reporter that has reported something about the search. And yet, almost all of them have been pretty accurate with what they have reported. As much as some of it we haven’t agreed with.

If Gerry fails you can put a stake in the program. Because a bad hire this time and the fans aren't ever coming back. If this ends up being another screwup, then I'll stick with football, and womens basketball.

You still have to get the top players to come play for you and for Syracuse. Just because we have money doesn’t mean the elite of elite talent will start coming back. Lots of selling is going to need to happen. I think we can still put together a solid roster of the 2nd and 3rd teir players just have to be smart on roster construction. If GMac can start winning and the money stays that can change in a year or 2

I don't know how GMac rolls with personnel but man do I hope it's not like Boeheim who would play his favorites over better players at times. I'm afraid Gerry might do this with Doty. I'm not sure what role he would have if we're truly a tournament team next year. He shoots 31.4% from deep for his career. Last year he was 32.6%. He still heaved up 4 a game - that's one of my concerns for next year, the wrong guys are taking the most shots like what George and JJ did this year. Recipe for failure.

I think we really could have a problem at our shooting guard position with Kiyan (and possibly Doty). Kiyan shouldn't start but would over Doty you would think.

What the other 3 guys on the floor look like is the big question. Those two are going to play a lot. I'm very concerned we are repeating the Buddy mistake where we work our roster around a good but not great player.

Several of us who were paying attention were right on this, especially the hail mary to schertz and the $$ assurance just not being there for him. It was clear the $$ was only there for gmac and, yeah, that's unfortunate
