Dude looks like he’s about to assimilate Jean-Luc Picard into the Collective.
He was Butch Jones' OC at Central Michigan, Cincinnati and Tennessee but was apparently asked to leave after UT struggled on offense in big games. Ended up as the Tampa QB coach.

He runs the Rich Rod spread. Might signify a little more progressive approach on offense for BC. They were surprisingly successful running tempo and power under Loefer.

BC depends on NJ talent to keep that program afloat. He needs to deliver there for this hire to be successful.

Wow this guy was hired by Steve Addazio?

THAT Steve Addazio?

Hard to attract a quality offensive coordinator if they think you’re lame duck

Blast from the past:

Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings have formally named Gary Kubiak assistant head coach / offensive advisor, Brian Pariani tight ends coach, and Klint Kubiak as quarterbacks coach.

SU grad:

Maryland: New offensive coordinator Scottie Montgomery and John Reagan were out recruiting for the Terps today. Reagan, who served the past few seasons as offensive coordinator at Penn (FCS), will coach the offensive line. He previously served as offensive coordinator at Kansas and Rice.

Gotta respect going all in on a 3-31 coach. And you're still all in even after his play calling against Clemson! ;)

Even more respect after Jalen Hurts now went anywhere other than Maryland as expected.

Congrats to him

Alabama DC to Browns DLine coach? That's a weird move. He either he got pushed out or busing tables is better than working for Saban.

Who knows... could be sick of recruiting and being on the road that much.

It was reccommended to Tosh that he look for opportunities in the NFL to learn. Unreal recruiter but just was in over his head at the DC spot. I said last week shortly after the National Championship game that Saban was going to hold guys on his staff accountable and there would be wholesale changes. Gattis was basically checked out and looking for a promotion leading up to the game and took a "personal day" during the team's Saturday practice before the game. Enos found out he didn't really like the pressure and demands that being the OC for Bama entails so went to a more laid back job where expectations aren't as high. He just up and left in the middle of the night without ever saying bye or manning up to communicate his decision to anyone in the Bama building. He assumed Jalen would follow him to Miami but that was never Jalen's plan. Kool will be gone after NSD - big adjustment to go from working for Richt to Saban. Key was recommended to look elsewhere. Locks got the promotion.

Jimmy Lake is supposedly Saban's target right now for DC. Would be a haymaker hire. Other name is Kevin Steele. He knows Saban's system better than anyone other than Saban, Kirby or Pruitt and Saban wants guys he can trust to coach the talent up. Internal guy who will have a role is Pete Golding who Saban loves and OU made a huge run at to become their DC this offseason. Todd Bates was in Tuscaloosa this past weekend but my guess is Bo Davis comes back to coach the DL. Vinnie just came back as a GA and Saban wants his dad Sal to come back to Tuscaloosa to coach LB's so we'll see. Sark will be QB coach and OC or co-OC with somebody. Kyle Flood looks like he'll be the OL coach, Butch Jones or Lance Taylor will be WR coach.

Edit: Bob Bostad looks more likely to be OL coach of late. He was the architect behind the Wisconsin running attack from '06-'11.

His performance as DC this year was not good. He's going to the NFL to learn more and get better at on field coaching to try and raise his ceiling for his future. He's probably the best recruiter in the country and it speaks volumes to how good of a recruiter he is that he basically became the Bama DC because of his recruiting prowess despite mediocre to above average on field coaching ability.

Hackett found work

Wow, going from Bortles to one of the best of all time. And getting away from Doug (I think Doug is a very good coach, just have an assumption that he's difficult to work for/with)? Good for him.

The Scoop - Monday January 21, 2019 - FootballScoop

Pitt: Chris Beatty is joining the staff as wide receivers coach, according to multiple reports. Beatty most recently coached wide receivers at Maryland and previously coached at Virginia, Wisconsin, Illinois, Vanderbilt and West Virginia, among others.

Was Beatty not retained or did he leave on his own. That's surprising from a recruiting standpoint.
