Coaching Comments to Recruit

Btw Stanford's offense sucks guys

You could play 69 offense with luck and be good. Not a model for anything
I love how whenever a coach with a hot offense gets mentioned as a model to follow some people immediately question if it's the scheme or the talent, but if Stanford gets mentioned its assumed its a good scheme and you get to remind everyone that maybe, just maybe, Andrew Luck had something to do with their success.

Acosta told the TE recruit Dunkleberg, that the staff was moving toward a TE oriented offense. OK x's & o's people, what is your interpretation? Nothing would please me more than an offense that looks like the Pats. (I know, I know, we don't have Brady.)
Maybe we do have a "Brady" a lot of players were picked before he landed in NE. I for one hope this is true.

If I see a two tight end diamond back field I'm going to FedEx a decomposing fish to Lester's office.

I have a very bad faith explanation for why some people love Stanford and tight ends

Otto we're screwed.

If Stanford's offense sucks, I will take that all day long! They haven't been too successful as of late.

Crusty my friend, we are so far behind we think we're in first.

If you are Shafer, a defensive minded HC, you may have concluded that you need an offense that will complement your defense. The longer an attacking risk-taking defense stays on the field the better the odds of it getting burned. Adazzio's success at BC has certainly not gone unnoticed by HCSS. A clock burning possession type offense is just what the doctor ordered.

Is a hard nosed smash mouth type of HC really going to run a sissified spread offense? I think not.

Prepare yourself for three yards and a cloud of recycled tires. Yikes.

I watched Stanford take 10 drives inside of USC's 30 yard line and score a total of 10 points. Are we sure SU hasn't been running Stanford's offense all along?
Is it the system? Or the talent? We'll never know.

And there's a certain logic to that if you ignore that BC plays their games in the frozen tundra, and WE ARE THE ONLY P5 SCHOOL THAT PLAYS IN A DOME.

It's DNA. We just have to be patient and wait for the McNabb/Ismail kids to get here. Then, Jake C's controversial athlete mating program will finally pay off.

Gronk from Buffalo and his Dad played for Syracuse :(

After two years Shafer will go with the least risk offense. He knows that he will not get fired if he goes 7-6 with a bowl.

We will need to beat Rhode Island, CMU, USF and three others. UVA is our cross over game.

I believe that it is a bit easier to find, recruit and develop defensive players than it is offensive players. Furthermore, defense is more of an assignment issue for 11 players and not so much for the offense. If I am the coach at SU in 2015 and I am on a short leash, I am going with defense and game control offense. It is just easier and much safer. The upside sucks, but I keep my job and live to fight another day.

What's that Crusty? I can't hear you. I'm too busy coaching up a bunch of guys nobody's heard of before.

Get ready to play for field position and trying to stick around so we've got a chance to win it in the 4th everybody. On steroids.

LOL, didn't say I liked it, but there it is. We now have a FG kicker and punter all set for the next few years. Sound like a few of the pieces are done. We'll need a feature back and that is about it.

so when we lose U wanna lose by the avg 20 points we've been losing or have a chance at the end of games to actually win

Well those are certainly the only possibilities.

If the best our program can do, again, with A UNIQUE ADVANTAGE NOBODY ELSE AT OUR LEVEL ENJOYS, is turn games in to rock fights and hope we white knuckle our way to wins, we should apologize to the ACC and fold the program.

i knew you as sarcastic a little but always thought you were more of a glass half full kind of guy with the football program.

Two TE offense are awesome... when you have Rob Gronkowski and pre-murder Aaron Hernandez.

But some of you should be ecstatic, you're always yapping about doing what we did in the 90s, so now we'll have the offense we coulda run when Roland Williams and Kaseem Sinceno were here!

Now where's my Backstreet Boys CD?!

I absolutely am a glass half full kind of guy.

My response to this should be telling.
