Coaching Lost the FSU Game

Shaq wasn’t getting to that pass, it was so far over his head.

I was thinking more about speed and body control. If a a guy with good agility can turn, take a couple quick steps, and dive maybe he gets under it.

Marlowe Wax. The kid who was already flagged once for a BS late hit on the QB.

The refs set the tone early.

If Wax so much as breathes on the QB out of bounds it'll be flagged as targeting and Wax has to sit the 1st half of the Wake game.

Yeah, he clearly let up because he was a afraid of a late hit call if the QB's pinky toe had touched the sideline simultaneously. The refs screwed us on that drive twice.

I would be a lot more mad all around at the FSU loss if we hadn’t had a lucky walk off FG win the week before. Live by the sword die by the sword. We lose to Liberty if the likely first QB drafted next year doesn’t hand us the game and fumble like that when he was definitely going to drive and give his team a walkoff attempt.

I think we beat Wake by 3-4 scores next week and it’s a big coming out party for a lot of guys.

The decision not to kick the field goal in the first half came back to haunt us losing by 3 points.

cost liberty a chance last week bit us in the arse yesterday. going on 4th seems like the macho thing to do until you lose by 3. it's a bird in the hand thing. 0-3 on 4th down . Dino gambled and lost.

How did he hand us the game? He didn't fumble the snap, botch a handoff, or drop the ball while getting tackled. Our guys pursued and one stripped the ball. Our guys made a play.

I was fine with the decision to go but didn't like the play call. I want something with multiple options on a play like that. We have the perfect personnell for a TE throwback in that situation too. The defense was flowing whichever direction Tucker went all game. That's what gave Shrader so much room to run a few times. Use that pursuit against them there.

Shrader said after the game we were too predictable in the first quarter and when we started trusting people and moving the ball around our offense got much better. Interesting thoughts.

The handcuffs are off Shrader, and Dino fortunately for him isn't putting them back on. Shrader just might save Dino, he will win games he shouldn't. After that game he is the leader this team needs.

I would like this to be true but nothing is a sure thing with DB. Could have been definitive in his post game and said it was a tuff loss but GS played great and he is qb 1 going forward. You do not need to rewatch the tape to see he is the better option for this team.

I saw 3 things by players that really frustrated me. One was when an FSU receiver had his hands on the ball and should have caught it but dropped it. I knew it was likely incomplete but just in case it was a fumble I expected our D to cover it up just in case because that's what you do. They didn't. No harm but ... not long after FSU throws a backward pass (lateral) which the back muffed. The ball goes to the grass and our players just look at it thinking it is incomplete while the FSU player picks it up and runs in for a TD. Then on the one play with the FSU QB running tight to the sidelines... looking like he would go out of bounds... so our D just assumes he would and don't touch him. So he gets a huge gain. Undisciplined and lazy.

Glad I wasn’t the only one that noticed these bonehead mistakes
