Cole vs Quincy

I was a HUGE QG fan. HUUUUGGGGEEEE! But
If you asked me right now if I could have Swider
Or QG right now I take Cole 100 times out of 100.

If he can rebound night in, night out like this, he's a huge upgrade. Also looking more and more like a guy that can score at all three levels.

Yeah I can’t believe how good he is inside. As IGOR would have said we are playing tavern league tonight!

FWIW Quincey tonight 3 points in an Oregon blowout win. 1/6 shooting, 1/4 from 3. 9 rebounds.

My team is on the floor.

Quincy did his best for us last year but his heart was not in it. He wants to shoot 3s and play at the small forward not the power forward. I am not sure he would be that good of a fit with this team. For this team, Cole is the gear we need. Combination of Cole and JB3 makes this team explode. Too many people to cover. Double teams are going to leave someone open that can make you pay.

Quincy was 2-8 from 3 (not too good) but did lead the Ducks in boards with 12
Correct. CBS and ESPN posted different box scores; appears the former (still up)is a partial.

Cole was all over the place. Way more than just a shooter. Our most impressive overall player tonight IMO (despite his cold shooting)

Yeah, great hustle & smarts, ripped down boards like it was his job, and even those misses from 3 were all right there, just off by a fraction.
Those will fall.

Liked the diversity of his O game.
He is most definitely NOT ‘just a shooter’

Even had a block. 2 steals.
And 2 dimes.

Quincy started on a lineup that had three guards and two forwards. He is one of the forwards. The other forward is listed at 6’7” and 200lbs. He transferred there to show off his guard skills, but he is their de facto center. He did take 8 threes, making 2.

I actually think Jimmy is filling the Guerrier role on this team and not Swider. I would take Jimmy over Guerrier as well. I think Jimmy is better offensively and defensively, and Guerrier is better on the boards.

Looking at Guerrier's game today, he was 3-11 from the field and 8 of those 11 shots came from 3. If the majority of his shots are going to come from 3 this year, than the advantage Jimmy has over him on offense is even bigger.

Jimmy is a hooper

One note of caution… basketball is played on two sides. Swider and Jimmy are both clearly an upgrade on offense, but the key to our season will be whether they can at least hold their own on defense. That’s the side where we will miss the Guerrier the most.

Maybe so. But Q often was the guy making a critical rotation mistake. Very good rebounder and good help side D though.

Guerrier was our worst forward defensively last year out of himself, Griffin and Braswell. He really didn’t help us much on that end of the court and the numbers back that up. Not trying to trash the kid, but I think some overestimate his loss.

It took him a bit, but I was impressed with Cole in the 2nd half (I'll say it was first legit game jitters). Cole's the type of guy that can explode for 20 in a blink of an eye and bury a team. I never though QG could do that unless we fed the post. I also love what Jimmy brought to the table. A complete upgrade compared to AG.

I also believe the guards did what they needed to do, including Sy. If they play like that, I'm not worried about losing Kadary.

yeah uh, I like Q alot and wish we still had him, but... not sure what you were watching the last two seasons if you're complimenting his defense right now...
